Midnight in South Vietnam, and the river is black. Past the rice paddies and shacks, small fires are burning by the shoreline as Lt. John H. Davis' 50-foot aluminum swift boat PCF 19 makes its routine patrol through the reeds. In a split second, rocket fire shatters the silence, and through a plume of oily smoke, the boat sinks to the river's bottom. "My whole crew lost their lives that night. I was the only one who survived," Lt. Davis says.

Thanks.
I just made a modest donation.
You are a Great American!
Welcome Home Brother
He then spent the next six years as a prison cellmate of John McCain, who would become a Republican senator, at the prison the Americans called, with bitter irony, the "Hanoi Hilton." Maj. Day's presence in the room is palpable. Even in a group of decorated war veterans, he stands out as a living legend.
The others sheepishly introduce themselves and are honored just to shake his still-firm hand.
Here is what I am wondering. Remember when the first ad came out and John McCain called it "dishonest and despicable"?. Is that what he is going to say about the new ad, with this extraordinary hero--his former cellmate-- most likely in it?
Just sent in $50. Had been meaning to do this earlier but got sidetracked. Now it's done. Good intentions are nice but only $$ really moves things along. Thanks for the link.
Thanks Bro!
Actually, there were a lot of guys in the Navy that either joined to avoid being drafted, or were put into the service by a judge after a GTA, burglary, or other light crime.
They usually got out as soon as they could, but they were a pain to be around while they were in.
Figure 97% of the guys were good guys, and a few screwups were around. So when someone says "I'm a Vietnam Vet", [especially if they say it like "I'm a hero!"] I don't automatically kneel down and kiss their feet. I knew some pretty big screwups were there.
Just saw a good article at gogov.com on the Veterans POW special that is going to air. Wish I could get this special where we are. I may by the video.
God Bless Our Troops and Shame, shame on Kerry.
Ditto, we cannot let this POS traitor, un-american, men of honor defiler become the MAN!
Yes, I often wonder if the other POWs ever complained about McCain if McCain would say: "Well these guys were in the SAME CELL with me. How would they know what really happened."
correction: ...these guys were NOT in the SAME CELL.

We must do every thing in our power to stop the spin for Kerry. I am not rich nor can I afford to donate $50.00 every week but as there are only 20 days left I will suck it up and donate 2 more times!
To all you Viet Nam vets out there. Remember what you felt like coming home. Ashamed, scared to wear your uniform, having to tell everyone that you didn't commit atrocities. Please donate to the SBVT's.

I don't know where you are coming from but your figure of 97% would equal the state of of our services today!
