Hey, I agree with you on that one--I think there are entirely too many conservatives who are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face.
From my experience in California, I'm convinced some of the self-proclaimed "true conservatives" don't want to win elections--because that means that some of their pet social ills will start getting solved, and that means that the contributions they get will start to go away.

Yes it was. And what frosts me is that there are THAT MANY ULTRA-SELFISH PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY that have no care or concern about their country -- just look at the number of Kerry supporters....the perversion of it is frightening.
Agreed... with Kerry as the alternative, that's no surprise.

People assume that the overwhelming majority of newly-registered voters lean democrat, but I don't think it's necessarily true. The "Evangelical Vote" didn't show up in 2000, and I feel that many of those people registered this year.
Well, I guess we're going soft. Bummer.
Then again, 2000 was pre-9/11. Maybe there's still hope for conservatism.
Your choice is between Bush and Kerry and you know it. Leave the whining and bitching for another day.
Does anyone know a conservative that didn't vote for GWB in 2000 that is voting for him now?
I know quite a few Colorado libertarians who didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but will be voting for him this time around. I also know a few Christian conservatives who stayed home in 2000, but will be voting for Bush this time around.
It's all about Joe, and how Joe's not happy, and how Joe is too f***ing lazy to do anything about the problem himself, because Joe's a prissy little girl who wets her panties at the thought of having to do real work.
I know a few, and boy, I can tell you during the 2000 nightmare they kicked themselves for not voting for him, especially in a battleground state like I/we live in. They became demoralized by the DUI dirty trick and "lost" faith and trust in W, and suspicious that he was not who he was. Stupid!!!
And remember, don't mention that, you know, that other issue!
In my case the reasons are:
1. Sept. 11
2. The alternative candidate.
On controlling the growth of govt., relations with Cuba, and other issues (yes Joe, THAT issue), he has been a bit of a dissapointment. But hey, close enough for government work.
When you look at the alternative to Bush. There is no choice. Its Bush or socialism, sodomy, and surrender. The politics of the left. Scratch a democrat and you find a traitor.
