Bush does not oppose embryonic stem cell research. He opposes FEDERAL FUNDING of embryonic stem cell research, unless it involves a few dozen lines of cells already in existence.
It's just another fine example of how the liberal media lies for partisan purposes.
As an aside, if stem cell research held the promise that these liberal groups think it does, private research firms would be knocking each other down to get there first. I don't see them volunteering their capital for this research, do I?
I thought Bush was the first President to fund the research, or the President that has put the most funding towards stem cell research.
when this subject came up at the last debate, Bush should have turned to Kerry and said, "I don't think federal funds should be involved. Why don't you get your rich friends to fund this research? Oh yeah, I forgot, if you were president, you would have taxed the cr** outta them."
