Remember, RINOs are to be supported by everyone, including conservative Republicans. Only RINOs can treat others, including conservative Repubs, with scorn.

Dr. Keyes is polling under 25% not because the RINOs in Springfield have abandoned him and not because Mr. Obama is some kind of electoral demigod.

He is polling under 25% because, even though he knew he would be facing an adversarial press and a passive party organization, he spoke incautiously and focused on the wrong things. He could have polled over 40% even with his handicaps - but he just did a bad job.

I hope that someone does some good exit polling on election day, it would be most helpful to find out if people voted for Keyes because he was a Republican, wasn't Obama, or because they agreed with his campaign.

My guess is that the voting numbers will be higher than people expect, and 2/3rds will respond that they voted for Keyes because of his values.

If, however, that doesn't happen, then it bodes bad for social conservatives in the party. And to be honest, that outright scares me.

This should be a lesson to the Republican Party. And a well-deserved lesson, IMO. Too bad some good Republican candidates are likely to pay the price, along with citizens who would like to be represented by those good Republican candidates.

How lovely that the self-absorbed Keyes has enabled his popular opponent to spend time touring the country raising money and votes for Kerry/Edwards < /s> And I'll just double over laughing if he's managed to piss off his daughter enough to get her to come out of the closet.

Could it be that both Rinos and Dimwits want Obama to win?

Keyes has destroyed what little was left of his reputation by entering into this disastrous campaign, where we learned he wants slave reparations, the final nail in his coffin.

He is an egomaniac who only serves to embarrass the Republican Party. The sooner he sinks over the horizon into oblivion, the better.

I am a fan of Dr. Keyes, as he was an added breath of inspiration during Impeachment. He was possibly the most articulate and forceful opponent Bill Clinton had. Had he remained at his post on his radio programme, "America's Wake Up Call", he would have remained beloved of all Freepers, I dare say.

That all being said, I am disappointed with this run. I do not see why he thought he had a chance in a state as liberal as Illinois. I do not see why he thought it necessary to inflame matters - his mentor, Ronald Reagan, knew much better. Had President Reagan been asked to comment about Cheney's daughter, with a smile and a wink, he would have said something along the lines of "Shouldn't that really be a question for her dad?".

I honestly don't know what Dr. Keyes is going to do after this. I suggest he moves to Australia and teaches American Government there.

Regards, Ivan

Question for all political experts on the Keyes campaign?

First, anyone in this thread ever ran a successful campaign for office either as a candidate or a campaign manager? Anyone?

Anyone ran a close campaign that they lost by a better than expected margin? Anybody at all?

Anyone entered a with 12 million people in it, 84 days before the election and no campaign money whatsoever and no money to run ads? Does anyone have that type of experience?

If not, then could ya'll stop it because it's just Monday Morning Quarterbacking. Keyes had the guts to come to Illinois to help the people out. He's been stabbed in the back by a bunch of RINOs and girlie men who should have known what they were getting. Next payday, I'm gonna put some more money where my mouth is and send a few bucks to the Ambassador. The rest of you could follow suit by donating to your man, Obama.

This is just my opinion, but I think that Keyes went too far with the "selfish hedonist" comment. I am not going to talk about the abortion issue because that is just way too touchy but as for the gay issue, Keyes went way too far. He openly attacked his own party's vice president's daughter and called her selfish for being homosexual. Regardless of whether being homosexual is a choice or not, people don't deserve scorn for their lifestyle choices.

I don't agree with special rights for gays like anti-discrimination legislation or hate crimes legislation but I do believe that they deserve respect as human beings and that sodomy laws should be struck down at the state level because it is immoral to police someone's consensual bedroom activities.

Alan Keyes is definitely the better man in this race when compared with Abama. Keyes may not have been everyones choice but he's a lot better than that socialist Democrat and he deserves the support of republicans. I would vote for keyes if I lived in Illinois

Please Pass Emergency Anti-Vote Fraud Measure Immediately!

Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty

Please send the following message to your Congressmen and Senators:

Please pass, on an expedited basis, emergency legislation to require voters to show ID at all polling places on Election Day.

Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty. There is a significant amount of evidence emerging that evinces a wide-spread plot to engage in massive voter fraud. Thus, Congress must take immediate action to counter this potential menace.

Congress has the express power to dictate the time, place, and manner in which federal elections are held. The congressional power to make or alter time, place, or manner of federal elections extends to the regulation of voter registration. Federal regulation of the electoral processes, including the regulation of federal voter registration, is also consistent with the Tenth Amendment and permissible; although states do have broad discretion to enact and implement registration procedures, states may not transgress the Constitution. It follows that state voter registration and Election Day statutes that are inconsistent with federal voter registration and Election Day mandates are preempted.

As per the Federal Court in Byrd v. Brice, the government may require a voter to furnish proof of identity at the polling place on Election Day. Such a measure would go a long way in protecting citizens’ federal voting rights from fraudulent practices.

Please set to work immediately on enacting emergency legislation to require a valid ID at the polling places on Election Day.

The author of this anti-Keyes hitpiece does what he doesn't intend to do, namely expose the arrogant condescension and lack of principle of many members of the Washington and Illinois GOP 'elite' leadership.

Herein lies the rotten core of the severe problems the GOP in Illinois and in the country are experiencing.

Win or lose, there is an internal political bloodbath on its way within our party. Count on it.

The conservatives in this party have played nice, in the face of great provocation, for four years.

Novemeber third is coming, and I for one will not forget the shameful way the party hacks have treated conservatives.

Well, it looks as though Osama bin Bama will be the next Senator from Illinois in the great tradition of Carol Mosely-Braun!

Illinois can sure pick them can't they?

This cat is about as close to a communist as Harken, et al.

Keyes is a great speaker, but he blew his chance for greatness with this campaign. And I think because of his tremendous speaking skill, had a chance at high office. But he's never going to be able to distance himself from some of his more intemperate remarks now. He's the Pat Buchanan of whatever portion of the political spectrum he occupies.

Illinois no longer has straight-ticket voting; each candidate must be voted for individually.

This will depress Keyes' total even further.

A number of Republicans of my acquaintence are going to write in either Jim Oberweiss or Steve Rauschenberger.

Osamabama is a scum sucking rat. Keyes will mash him in the debates just like Bush did to Kerry a few days ago. Keyes will do it the same way the president did, by hitting homeruns on the abortion question while that liberal piece of $hit Obamasama tries to sqirm out of those questions.

Go Keyes Go.

In this race you can support Keyes, who is for saving 3000 babies a day or you can support Obamasama, who is for killing 3000 babies a day.

This author is not a Republican and the bias is obvious. If nothing else, for the blurb on THK at the end.

I seem to remember predictions that Ambassador Keyes was only expected to get 15% of the vote, now it's closer to 25%.

How is this an impediment to the Republicans of Illinois?

The best tool that Keyes has is to point out the differences between himself and the Dem. Abortion, homosexual marriages and morality in general **is** the difference and there is no reason for Keyes to change.

If the Illinois Republicans did not know how consistent Ambassador Keyes is on moral issues, they did not do their homework, and the Illinois GOP has much bigger problems.

I feel sorry for Keyes - I agree with him on most issues. However, when he started talking reperations he lost me. Once a huge supporter of his, now I just hope he goes away for good.
