Immigration is a Federal issue. Until the Feds decide to do something about it what Arnold wants is probably all the state can do.

The feds (read: George W. Bush) have decided to do something about illegal immigration.

They decided to embrace it and reward it.

Why else would Bush have created the Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico (signed with Mexico on June 29, 2004) that will allow millions of former, current and future Mexican illegal aliens to apply for and receive literally hundreds of billions of dollars in US Social Security benefits for themselves, their wives and their children after having worked for as little as 1-1/2 years.

Note that we US citizens have to work for at least 10 years before we're eligible to apply.

Also note that the illegal aliens' wife and children are eligible even if they've never stepped foot in the US.

With conservatives like Bush, who needs liberals?

This makes me ill. The only MAJOR NEGATIVE of the Bush presidency. Is the Mexican vote that critical? I guess it is. For this action ALONE, if there was a better candidate than Bush running, he would get my vote. But there is NO WAY I WOULD PUT A TREASONOUS SOCIALIST-MARXIST IN THE WHITE HOUSE...I care too much about this country.
