"The problem is that the majority of non-observant secular Jews don't care about Israel's well being."
But to say "They are more concerned with liberalism" is merely to beg the question. Notwithstanding their "non-observance", are they Jews or not? If they identify themselves as Jewish in any meaningful way, then their insistence on voting for the party which welcomes anti-semitism with open arms is infuriating.
I am both a Jew and a proud conservative Republican. I too am baffled by the fact that George Bush does not have 100% of the Jewish vote. The problem is that most Jews believe that the democratic party is their ally. They are unwilling to accept the fact that no President has been as friendly to Israel as George Bush and they are unwilling to admit that the left is rapidly becoming anti-Israel. That being said, I have seen an increasing number of Jews joining the right and supporting our President. In fact, Newsmax recently ran a story about the high number of Russian Jews who are favoring Bush. The Russian Jews typically place support of Israel as their top priority, and they do understand that George Bush is the best ally Israel has ever had. Also, Ed Koch has supported George Bush because he knows that to win the war on terror, (in the United States and in Israel) we need a President who will stand up to the enemies, not one who will appease them.
It's a little off=topic, but why the black voters vote for the Dems is equally amazing. Whatever good did they ever do to them? However, there is a growing trend among the Black Americans (I deliberately avoid using the artificial coinage of African American, like one guy retorted on TV, we are not Africans, nor are we African Americans, we are Americans) to lean towards conservatives, dem efforts to brainwash them notwithstanding.
