did you read the rest of the article? It quotes Kerry aids that say that Kerry's internals show he's ahead in Florida and Ohio...I DON"T believe that for a second since other polls show Bush besting Kerry on all of the internals..CNN is STILL CNN

If you only poll Democrats Kerry is way ahead.

The election is all about turnout now.

Which is one reason that the polls are just a hair above meaningless. The polling groups have a wide variety of models to project turnout, and plenty of evidence that this election won't abide by any of the proven models.

Take, for example, the fact that many polls which query both likely and registered voters have shown that Bush has more favor among registed voters than among the likely voter sub-group. I don't believe I had ever seen registered voters lean more Republican than likely voters - ever! Does this mean that there is a large pool of people that have never voted before intending to vote for Bush? Does it mean that there are a lot of weak bush supporters that probably won't vote?

We won't know what it means until after the election.

These polls are probably including the fraudulant votes that the Democrats are throwing into the mix!

"well as interviews with campaign aides ..."

Why do they need to interview campaign aides for their poll? Surely they realize that their comments would be biased and probably even untrue. Unless that's what they wanted as part of their story to gloss over the facts.
