This doesn't strike me as being an outrageous statement. Stupidly spoken: yes, but I wouldn't make hay of it.It's easy to see the context of this statement, although it's a very, very poor choice of words.
It's no where near as bad, clueless or outrageous as the statements he's made about selling Iran uranium or justifying our military actions before world opinion. Which just freaks me out.

Well, Edwards repeated the selling Uranium to Iran statement this morning on FOX.

I do see it as outrageous because it shows Kerry is not out to win the war on terror, just make a little progress and call it quits.

Yep, but the cumulative effect of those plus this should be devastating.
I have a friend who is pretty apolitical but is a knee jerk Democrat since he grew up in a Strong Democrat home. He told me last night. "Look, You know I don't follow politics much. I really do not like Bush but man, Kerry just SCARES me. I hope Bush wins".
