If the name of a "Big Money" Political Party Donor with ties to Enron were discovered on the Saddam's Coalition of the Bribed, what do you think would happen to the Candidate of that party?
What if that Candidate of that Party was John Kerry?
Newsweek drops a bombshell on the Kerry Campaign: Texas Oil Baron and Big-Time Democrat Donor Oscar Wyatt has received perhaps as much a $22 million dollars in profits through oil allocations bought illicity from Saddam Hussein.
From MSNBC: United Nations: Oil-for-Food Fiasco?"
Law-enforcement sources say Americans who participated in alleged oil-for-food scams also may face further investigation. The CIA deleted from Duelfer's report names of Saddam's U.S. oil-for-food favorites. But an uncensored copy of the Duelfer report obtained by NEWSWEEK indicates Houston oil mogul Oscar Wyatt got oil allocations from Saddam which could have earned him and Coastal Corp.?a company he founded and ran until 2000?profits of more than $22 million. Wyatt and wife Lynn are major donors to political causes: since 1989 they have given nearly $700,000 in contributions, of which more than $500,000 went to Democrats. Wyatt told NEWSWEEK that his company did buy oil from Saddam but that he never did so personally, and that his company's dealings all complied with U.N. rules. ?Mark Hosenball and Steve Tuttle
Who is Oscar Wyatt? More than just a oil man, he's an outspoken critic of both Gulf Wars, and a big time Democratic Party Donor...
As per Houston's Clear Thinkers:
The 10-K also disclosed that one of El Paso's units has been subpoenaed by a grand jury from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to produce records regarding the United Nations' Oil for Food Program governing sales of Iraqi oil. The unit, El Paso CGP Company, was formerly Coastal Corp., which the company acquired in January 2001. The former chairman of Coastal -- Oscar Wyatt -- was an unabashed critic of Operation Desert Storm in the first Persian Gulf War and has been a vocal public critic of El Paso's management over the past several years.
Wyatt appears to have used his ill-gotten gains wisely - buying the leftovers of Enron.
According to New Age Business:
Enron said that the company and the Official Unsecured Creditor's Committee decided the CCE offer was best. Enron previously had said NuCoastal LLC, a company run by Texas billionaire and Coastal Corp. founder Oscar Wyatt Jr. had offered $2.2 billion in May.
So how does this affect Kerry? Well, perhaps we should couch it in terms even the Old Press can understand:
Big Oil, bribed by Saddam Hussein, helped pay for John Kerry's Campaign. Money used to buy Hussein's army's guns helped pay for John Kerry's campaign. Guns used to kill American Soldiers helped pay for John Kerry's campaign...
This may explain why John Kerry thinks the war in Iraq was a mistake. I believe the mistake may be his.
Marc Rich's is the Glenco Re (or Glencore) company named in the MEMRI memo, right?
Yes. The pardon becomes ever so important, Clintons wanted the money. Talk about bribes....
There seems to be not one inch of soil on this globe that the Clintons have not polluted.
One of the most prolific purchasers of the oil was Swiss-based Glencore run by one-time fugitive American financier Marc Rich, which the report alleges paid over $3.2 million in kickbacks to the Iraqi government. Rich, formerly wanted for tax-evasion was pardoned by President Clinton in his last days in office.
The report says that the company denies any inappropriate deals.
At the time of the pardon, many people puzzled over why Bill Clinton would pardon a man who fled the country and whose status as a fugitive had been under negotiation with the FBI just prior to Clinton's action. Instead of cutting a deal with Rich to get him back to the US to face charges, Clinton pulled the rug out from under the FBI. Without the leverage of the charges, Rich had no further motivation to cooperate with the DoJ on any outstanding investigations.
At the time, the presumption was that Rich's wife had donated enough money to buy the pardon. Now, however, the question may be whether Clinton knew about the corruption and feared that an aggressive Bush administration policy would uncover Rich's participation in undermining Iraqi sanctions while Rich raised funds for both his presidential library and Hillary's election. Capt.Quarters.
And I believe Vincent was on the MEMRI list, too, as receiving 7 million barrels/vouchers from Saddamn.
In the interest of fairness to the sKerry campaign, I demand that this thread be pulled.
Interesting blog post about Samir Vincent.

He's an Iraqi Chaldean Christian who is active in "antiwar" circles, apparently.
Samir Vincent: 7 millon barrels of oil from Saddam

The largest of the allocations went to Wyatt, who the list said had received allocations totaling 74 million barrels. At the profit rates of 15 cents to 85 cents per barrel that were reported in the arms inspector's study, he could have earned $23 million.
The names of the American companies and citizens who benefited from the voucher scheme were not included in the published report prepared by the Iraqi Survey Group that was released Wednesday by the CIA, because the names of American individuals cannot be publicly disclosed under privacy laws. But the names were contained in unedited copies given to the White House and to several congressional committees.
Tony Fratto, a Treasury Department spokesman, said U.S. sanctions on Iraq had prohibited American companies and individuals from interacting directly with Iraqi officials.
But the oil dealers were permitted to get special authorization from the federal government to bid on U.N. contracts under the oil-for-food program. He said the agency was "actively investigating" whether the American entities and people circumvented that requirement.
"Tony Fratto, a Treasury Department spokesman, said U.S. sanctions on Iraq had prohibited American companies and individuals from interacting directly with Iraqi officials".
Is Vincent a naturalized American citizen, then?
the world is infested with bureaucrat entrepreneurs
That's the DemocRAT Party in a nutshell!
Or Burkett?
The RNC, Bush/Cheney, leading Repubs, etc. - regardless of the Lib Media - could hang Dems/Kerry with this IF they had the CAJONES!
Old Media will not pound away on this matter, unfortunately.
Here's the post from the DU:

Article on MSNBC. Can you believe what they are saying about our party?

Here's a piece...

They are claiming that some of Kerry's campaign money came from the UN Oil-For-Food scandal! Something about some Duelfer report that the CIA had deleted.

This would be covered 24-7 for the next 23 days if this were a Bush donor. But since the donor is a Kerry supporter I doubt this will get much coverage by the MSM. Besides, if the MSM was interested about who was in Kerry's back pocket, George Soreass's connection to drug cartels and money laundering would get some scrutiny. The MSM knows that if the mind-numbed masses were exposed to the truth he would drop 15% in the polls immediately.
The President must start bringing up John Kerrys NO vote to the Gulf War... These ties to oil from Sadaam and the influence of Wyatt are just too coincidental ... My take is that Kerry was under influence from Wyatt contributions to vote no on the Gulf War...
It makes no sense for him to stand there now and say coalitions are important but vote no when Bush 41 build the largest coalition in recent history to oust Sadaam from Kuwait...
It makes more sense that his vote was politically endorsed by direct contributions from Wyatt...
This whole Sadaam Oil for Food and undermining sanctions stinks to high heaven of Democrats influences...
