Oh, I agree. But the time to voice criticisms like this -- especially for someone in Barr's position -- is after the election. The problem certainly isn't going to get any better if Kerry wins.

If criticism is needed, it should be voiced immediately upon recognition. Any system operating strictly on positive feedback will go wildly out of control.

Barr, like many on FR, has watched both parties move further to the left. While his barbs appear to be aimed at Bush, they are in fact aimed at the GOP leadership. Whether we like to admit it or not, Bush and Kerry are just figureheads for their parties -- or more accurately, for the faceless interest groups who control the parties.
