But I guess I still don't understand why so many people would be supportive of a socialist plan for the US? Why would Soros, who has benefitted from capitalism, be so against it? Is it purely because of power?
Turn your question [and assumptions] upside down, and you can begin to understand..
Why would Soros, who has benefited from capitalism, be so against it?
Assume for a minute that he's not "against capitalism", -- that he's just a political idiot who supports the Communitarian view. [They believe we can have socialism in the USA without destroying our Constitutional system.] Millions think so, some right here on FR.
I guess I still don't understand why so many people would be supportive of a socialist plan for the US? Is it purely because of power?
It's because they feel powerless. They can't compete in a dog eat dog full capitalistic system. -- Assume that many of them are right. -- Millions of people have no 'in demand' skills that pay reasonable wages, yet they want a piece of the action.
So Soros wants power, and he sees a power base in catering to the powerless.
-- It's a pretty old political story. -- One I don't lose much sleep over.
Thanks.
