PANDERING

VetsforBush Commentary: In this debate Senator Kerry revealed a remarkable Freudian slip. Near the end in waffling over a question, Senator Kerry conditioned his response by saying that he didn’t want to be “Pandering.” (Do you remember the times he put on his most “sincere” face, put his hand on his heart, and said earnestly how he wanted to tell us “straight up.” That’s what cons say when they’re dying to sell us a lemon: “No really, this used car – and I’m telling you “straight up” – was only driven on Sundays.”) Pandering. That is exactly what Senator Kerry knows he is doing. It slipped out of his mouth. His answers reflect his willingness to say anything to be elected, no matter the truth, no matter what he has said before, no matter whose reputation he has to smear. In his condescension, he thinks various groups in America are too caught up in narrow views or too impressed by his Debate Team lies to notice. To pander: cater to the lower judgment or exploit the weakenesses of others. John Kerry: The Panderer who would be President.

Pshchologists and those who administer "lie-detector" tests agree that one of the tell tale sigs of a liar is to place ones hand over the heart. Others are to shrug, repeat questions, and stand with hands out to sides with palms upraised, in addition to irregular breathing patterns and profuse perspiring. FYI

When I heard that reference to NOT pandering I let out such a loud, sharp exclamation of disbelief that I frightened my own wife and child. I was very tuned in to what was being said and caught my family by suprise with the reaction.
