>>Kerry's own words from 6 months ago : "The threat of terrorism has been exaggerated"

Let's not forget him on LARRY KING LIVE saying he couldn't find the time to go to intell meetings but the night before he was at a huge fundraiser listening to the comic genius of Whoopi

"Bush will use this IF he has to and WHEN he has to."

I betcha Rove will flood the swing states and cabal TV with ads about Kerry not voting for the Gulf War and missing so many Senate intell meetings. I wonder if that would get more coverage just the President using them in a one time TV debate.

That graph says it all. In a three day rolling sample if the numbers significantly diverge or tighten in a single day (6 Oct) and then remain unchanged the next day (7 Oct) then you've got one set of bad data (6 Oct). Today, that bad data rolled off, and all the other data shows a consistent lead for Bush.

"The ones who wanted Bush to bring up Kerry's senate record months ago would be the ones complaining that now Bush has used up all his ammo."

True and I think they are also holding back the North Eastern Liberal tag for the last couple of weeks. We still have stuff to hit him with that is fresh. And where's the October surprise?

"If ever a conflict met skerry's "Global Test", Desert Storm was it. And he voted against it........"

Right. And I was surprised they have not brought up how Kerry said we need to fight a more "sensitive" war on terror and now he acts so macho.

"this is silly... it's something that should have been brought up by now,"

I am not so sure. The flip flopper label is losing steam that's obvious because Kerry's numbers are not as bad as they should be. So why not have some fresh nasty ammo to use to dislodge half-hearted Kerry voters over to Bush and discourge the rest of them from voting at all if it rains on election day in their town.

Well we're going to lose IL anyway but are you saying you feel confident we'll pick up those other senate seats? That would be great.

I'm not sure if we should be calling this the Cheney bounce or the Bush bounce

Based on the timing of the poll, I'm calling this the "Cheney bounce". The Bush Bounce will follow ;-)

Looks like Bush is settling into a four-point lead nationally.

More important is the 50% number.

Another good one. So many idiotic comments, so little time....

I think all of the landslide talk was just that - only talk. The reality is that we have a very close race. We must win Ohio and Florida. That is do-able, but we must fight hard for the next few weeks.

The future of the Supreme Court, the war on terrorism, America, and Western Civilization is at stake.

Victory in 2004!

Barring an absolutely incredible "October Surprise" from the Schrum wing of the Kerry party, Bush has this locked up.

If he does well in Tempe on Wednesday, and Osama's jihadists are kept at bay for the next three weeks, I'll agree with you.

Recent polls show the presidential election hanging in the proverbial balance, with George W. Bush making a dramatic gain on Vice President Al Gore last week. Gore seems to be again sneaking on top, with most poll results within the margin of error, so probably not very accurate.

CNN-USA Today tracking poll
Al Gore 45%
George W. Bush 45%

Gore Pulls 10 Points Ahead in Newsweek Poll
September 2, 2000
In a new national presidential poll conducted by Newsweek Magazine,
Vice President Al Gore seems to have pulled substantially ahead of
George W. Bush, just as Bush launches a blitz television ad campaign
making attacks on Gore's credibility.

Newsweek Poll results, nation-wide (Aug. 30-31):
Al Gore 49%
George W. Bush 39%
Ralph Nader 3%
Pat Buchanan 1%

Other recent state polls show similar results:
Iowa Poll sponsored by the Des Moines Register (Aug. 23-30):

George W. Bush 36%

Gore Takes Large Lead in California's Field Poll

August 24, 2000
Al Gore has leapt ahead of George W. Bush among California voters in a post
Democratic Convention poll conducted in English and Spanish.

The new poll shows Gore-Lieberman leading Bush-Cheney by 50%-37%, with Ralph
Nader dropping from 7% to 4% and Pat Buchanan remaining at 2%.

Independent voters in California say that 35% will vote Democratic, 29% will
vote Republican, 18% will vote for Nader, and 4% for other candidates.

CNN-USA Today-Galllup Poll Shows Gore Ahead in Dead Heat
8/21/00
A new CNN-USA Today-Gallup Poll shows:

Al Gore 47%
George Bush 46%
Ralph Nader 3%
Pat Buchanan 2%

Basically this shows Al Gore's post-Democratic Convention
bounce to be solid, with him having recovered from an 11-17
point deficit to a statistical dead heat, which means that
the 4% margin of error could make the poll accurate or
inaccurate within 4% of the results.

Saturday's Newsweek poll showed:

Al Gore: 48%
George Bush 42%

August 18, 2000
Gore Leads in New NBC/Wall Street Journal Poll

Vice President Al Gore got his hoped-for bounce out of his nomination acceptance speech Thursday night at the Democratic Convention.

Today's NBC/Wall Street Journal Poll shows Al Gore leading George W. Bush by three points, which is about the same as the margin of error in most polls.

Overnight national poll results are:
Al Gore: 46%, George W. Bush: 43%.
The numbers also show that Gore achieved making himself a real
contender in the race, in which Bush had been favored by up to
16% in some polls prior to the Democratic Convention.

8/10/00
Public Policy Institute Poll
of California voters during Republican Convention
and before Gore's selection of Sen. Joseph Lieberman as vice presidential running mate.
Al Gore 40%
George W. Bush 37%
Ralph Nader 8%
Pat Buchanan 1%

WHY KERRY WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT

SARASOTA, Florida (AP) -- For the better part of a decade, the man suspected of killing an 11-year-old girl whose abduction was caught on videotape had been under the supervision of Florida's criminal justice system. But despite his many brushes with the law, Joseph P. Smith never spent long behind bars.

Now, Carlie Brucia's grieving family is demanding to know why Smith -- a drug addict who admitted attacking one woman and was accused of trying to kidnap another -- was a free man.

The longest Smith has ever spent in prison is less than 14 months. He was acquitted of the most serious crime on his rap sheet, an attempted kidnapping, after telling jurors he meant the woman no harm...

HE DOESN"T SUPPORT THE DEATH PENALTY FOR THIS MAN

John Kerry’s position on capital punishment, in his interview on Meet the Press in December, 2002.

"SEN. KERRY: I think, Tim, as people get to know me in the course of this, they’ll know the things that I have fought for and the things I stand for. I was a prosecutor. I’ve sent people to jail for the rest of their life. I’m opposed to the death penalty in the criminal justice system because I think it’s applied unfairly, as even Republican governors have determined, and because I’m for a worse punishment.

I think it is worse to take somebody and put them in a small cell for the rest of their life, deprived of their freedom, never to be paroled. Now, I think that’s tougher. Let me just finish.

MR. RUSSERT: But, Senator, why shouldn’t Timothy McVeigh, who blew up the Oklahoma building, or if John Muhammad is convicted of being a sniper here in Washington—why shouldn’t they receive the death penalty?

SEN. KERRY: Tim, I think that, as I said, you know, different people have different opinions about what’s worse. I’ve seen people die and I know what it’s like to almost die. I don’t think that—you know, dying is scary for a while, but in the end, the punishment is gone. When you’re alive and you’re deprived of your freedom each day and you’re in tough circumstances—and I’m talking about tough circumstances. I’m not talking about some cushy situation where they live off the fat of the land in prison.. I’m talking about tough. But if you’re deprived of that freedom for the rest of your living days until God decides to take you, you know, that is tough, my friend, and I think that plenty of people think that.

LOL!!!!

This mental case had better hope they start giving tours of the White House again, because thats the closest to the Oval Office he is ever going to get.

perhaps Bush is saving them for later in the campaign in order to maximize their impact just before the election.

You never get a second chance to make a last impression.

Friends, we have to thank our beloved Shreck, the lovable Cheney for slapping the Breck Girl (Shreck crushes Breck) back into reality. Cheney has done a great service to our Nation, our President by putting all the loose ends together and launching Bush to a great victory in last night's debate. The bounce is Cheney's...Bush's bounce will be seen by Tuesday, just in time for Wednesday's debate.
