I'm retired Navy and I do not mind this characterization one bit. Most of these sayings have some basis of truth in history. Sailors, for the most part, spend huge amounts of thier time at sea, so when they get in port, they try to catch up, if you know what I mean.
Can't relate. Our Sailor doesn't drink or spend. A real oddity. Just made LT. We are very proud.
I get annoyed when Kerry tries to imply that we can't spend more on the military without raising taxes. The military is only part of the budget. We waste ridiculous amounts of money on ineffective social programs. Let's get rid of some of those. Our tax burden is higher than it was in WW2... how can anybody justify that??
Yeah - it's quite the scam. As long as the US sends aid, N Korea promises to slow down his reactor program. I think we need to nip this bribery in the bud.
