The first report from St. Louis is in - and presidential candidates Michael Badnarik (Libertarian) and David Cobb (Green Party) were just arrested. Badnarik was carrying an Order to Show Cause, which he intended to serve the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). Earlier today, Libertarians attempted to serve these same papers at the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the CPD - but were stopped from approaching the CPD office by security guards.
Fred Collins reported to me from the ground that Badnarik and Cobb are in great physical condition and great spirit.
As soon as more details are available, they will be posted here immediately.

I understand that Libertarianism is a great idealogy, maybe even superior to Republicanism....
- Open boarders, no passports, no visas
- Same sex marriage, incestual marriage legal
- Drugs legal for all, even minors
- No war on terrorism
- No FDA or drug testing or prescriptions required

And people said that he couldn't be arrested.

That and we couldn't have our boy George shown up by someone who has acutally read the Constitution. Maybe he can read but several of his positions are definitely anti-states rights.
Eliminate public education, eliminate drug laws, eliminate state sponsored marriages.

Why not just let any U.S. citizen get up there and rant on national TV? It would be just like the drunks and homeless who get on the NYC subways and rant to a captive audience.

Well, this can't hurt the Prez. Hopefully, the fringe kooks, even Libertarians, will be so outraged they'll cast a protest vote for Nader, Cobb or Badnarik because of the Dims aggessiveness at shutting them out of the debates and trying to keep Nader off of the ballot in many states.
Everyone is concentrating on Nader, but don't underestimate the number of votes Cobb will get for his Green Party in this election. I hope that Nader, The Greens and The Libertarians get a total of 7% of the vote between the three of them; 5% of that will be votes taken away from Kerry.

Libertarians, with whom I often disagree, are among the few legitimate voices in the "loyal" opposition these days. This doesn't sit well with me.

I guess there's at least one town where Badnarik can get arrested.I read the headline and thought we'd gotten a top al Queda guy.

Isn't he one of those "Blame America First" for 9/11 assclowns? Yes. In an interview this week he said it was America's policies that led to 9/11.
To: WildTurkey
fair enough... i was really just referring to fiscal policy, because thats the reason that a lot of conservatives have been pissed about this administration's fiscal policy

Libertarians, with whom I often disagree, are among the few legitimate voices in the "loyal" opposition these days. This doesn't sit well with me.They are not legitimate; they have sold out to the pro-drug movement. So much for loyalty. BTW, the pro-drug movement is sponsored by Soros, the money-bag for the anti-Bush activities.
To: Constitution Day
Oh, he was irrelevant long before that!

1. No welfare, no hand outs
2. Not friggin likely. Incest is still out.
3. legal yes. But not free. let those who would destroy their lives do so. It is after all, a free country. You'd also have to foot your own medical bills resulting from your habits.
4. No war on terrorism unless we got hit first. Instead of stomping all over other countries, we send hunter-killers in to kill the terrorists. Letter of M&R worked with Barbary. You think oil would be a lesser incentive?
5. Put a bad drug on the market and those suing you for damages would OWN you.
Depends on perspective....

Why not just let any U.S. citizen get up there and rant on national TV? Er... let me guess... because these are supposed to be debates between Presidential candidates? What are you so worried about? If these guys are such kooks, George and John oughta be able to make them look like idiots with no problems right?
