First big mistake: When Kerry mentioned Hans Blix and allowing the inspections time to work, he left a huge, huge opening: the Duelfer Report/testimony just this week referred to Oil for Food funds being used to undermine and weaken the sanctions (and, by extension, the inspections).

Not only did Bush not mention Duelfer, he led off by talking about how he asked "my generals" if they had everything they needed, etc.

Sure as hell souded like he was passing the buck to me, inferring that "Hey, everyone else told me they were golden. "

PS-That canned line about "Almost makes me want to scowl" was painfully lame. Any way Bush can pass out or something so Cheney becomes acting President for the rest of the debate?

You do remember the press getting so worked up with Bush's facial expressions in the last debate? The remark shows Bush's human side in his ability to make fun the left's image of him.
