Thank you. I might decide to try that, but more hoops to jump through. Wish I had thought to stick a tape in. I saw RealPlayer there and I don't get along with that one. You keep having to pay to upgrade to get the latest. After buying it five years ago and paying for one upgrade to the total tune of $60, I'm done. Too much upgrading and still being on dialup, I don't do much except read and look at stills.

My point: There was no other sources for information except the MSN when Reagan was president. They were it, along with there hatred and slanted reporting (I could even pick up on it as a high school student). My point was even being led down a path of hatred by the MSN toward Reagan the public saw that his fight against the Russians was the right one....This was why the MSN labeled him the great communicator...because despite all their negativity toward Reagan the people backed him.

I see the same hatred in the MSN toward Bush and his war. There is a clear right way to defend this country and one that will leave us sitting ducks for islamic terrorist and weak toward the rest of the world. But now there are alternative news sources.

I disagree with you about the undecideds... Those Depression era democrats with Reagan had to make a huge decision to break for Reagan, and the undecided middle were just the same as today. I just don't see this election as even being close. I could be way off the mark. This election just feels the same to me as Reagan's second term election did to me, hatred of the media and their trying to rig the election for the dem and make it a close race and all.

The IMPRESSION left was that Lurch is scary and dour and hopeless, Bush had been through the fire and cared about protecting us and wasn't gonna have any of Kerry's bull.

Yes!

Yes, I agree with you. I can only assume that they figure their anchors are more vicious than the other networks and that they have more 'personalities' that have other shows (radio and such)...and therefore people will make the assumption that they are better informed and viewing the issues from both the left and right, as opposed to the MSM which views only from the left.

I think they're wrong, of course. When the viewers hear their leftist views, we'll change turn them off, assuming their true biased colors are showing through. In addition, all we ever hear is the leftist view. We watched Fox not for its 'balanced' reporting, but for its more conservative view. THAT is what balances our information, just as Rush always says...listeners don't need 'equal time' with him, he IS the equal time.

Overview

In the 1960s the drug thalidomide was used by some pregnant women in Europe and Canada to treat morning sickness. Women who took the drug in early pregnancy gave birth to children with severe birth defects such as missing or shortened limbs. Shortly after the birth defects were observed, thalidomide was banned worldwide.

Congratulations on your retirement from lurkdom!

I found FR immediately after Election 2000 (wish I'd known about it on Election night!) and lurked for nearly two years while I worked on filling the gaps in my political education.

Listening to part of the debate on the radio, I was nervous, because Kerry sounded so oily and slick...

Mr. Otta heard the debate on the radio, too, and made a similar observation.

"Bushwood" Lol! I guess someone should register the name, sounds like a winner to me. Btw, I can't stop thinking about it. It's just so creepy. In the middle of the most important debate of his career, he pulls out of thin air, such a minor detail; GWB owned a tiny share of a lumber mill (decades ago?) on which he made a profit of $ 84. (Declared on a tax return it seems.) Something so insignificant and so long ago that GWB had totally forgotten about it. Yet Kerry, in a debate upon which 'hangs' the fate of the Nation, retains this item in his mind. What goes on in his head? It really is scary.
I'll never see Kerry's face again without thinking WANT SOME WOOD?

I'd always heard Thalidomide was a tranquilizer, sleeping pill. It may have been used to treat morning sickness, but I didn't think that's what it was indicated for. Interesting.

It is supposedly making a comeback as a possible cancer drug.

You are correct. Thalidomide was prescribed as a treatment for morning sickness. My mother was offered a prescription while pregnant with me. Thankfully, she believed morning sickness was a natural, temporary consequence of pregnancy and refused to take the drug.

"Landslide" at the very least - 'cause there's going to be an avalance of bogus votes coming in from the commucrats, and if the Military entrusts their absentee ballots to the Post Office again, I sincerely doubt that many at all will ever make it to the polls on time (if at all).

Kerry and Komrades know that they can't "win" this election - so they are doing their damndest to steal it, as Gore nearly (but by the Grace of God) did in 2K.

With all the venom and hatred on the left, either way it goes there could be trouble.

Thank you. I wish there was time for me to keep quiet and watch. Democracy is just not a spectator sport.

"And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Rev 3:14-16)

Sink is right.
If you constantly complain and nobody is responding to you, take the hint.
Nobody needs to read your "analysis for the wronged" - escpecially when you offer nothing else.

Last time I checked, it was a forum for exchanging ideas... not a rah-rah cheerleading forum

Having said that, GO SCRATCH.
