What's obvious is that Halperin is stil operating in the pre-Rathergate world...where the insulated liberal news coccon wold allow for such brazen memo-writing with the assumption that a) this is just business as usual and b) even if it was unethical, nobody will expose it since we're all in the same boat.
These are deliberate marching orders, given by an executive of a major news organization to his staff, to slant their coverage towards one candidate in a presidential election. Halperin's head should roll, but it won't.
It is amazing however that Halpering doesn't just instruct his journalists, to remain above the spin, do not add to it and be fair. I guess those ethics are just out of style now.
