CONTROVERSY HITS ABC NEWS POLITICAL DIRECTOR MARK HALPERIN... EXCLUSIVE DEVELOPING... An internal memo written by ABCNEWS Political Director Mark Halperin admonishes ABC staff during coverage of Democrat Kerry and Republican Bush -- not to 'reflexively and artificially hold both sides 'equally' accountable'...
Aw, gee...I wish you'd said something sooner! I had the diamonds melted down. :D The jeweler said the platinum was just scrap, so...
Dang it, just my luck to lose it twice....lol.
Let it begin. They ARE the "enemies foreign and domestic" that I swore to defend against throughout my career. I will damned well be willing to take up weapons against them to defend the constitution. Let's face it, the rats are the party of slavery, the party of secession and civil war, the party of the KKK, etc. They are every bit as dangerous as their terrorist friends.
need some wood?
The war, the patriot act, basically even though Kerry voted for this things, if they have gone badly, it is Bush's fault
What kind of "sparks"?
Bump
[Bush] You are damned if you don't and damned if you do as far as the media goes.
You mean the Rat Pack!
As Doug Forrester likes to say before calling for the "retirement" of Dan Rather, "a free press is essential to a free society."That is true. But the dirty little secret is that broadcasting is not merely an addition to communication of truth, it is selective addition to the expressive power of certain people to the comparative disadvantage of we-the-people generally. Think of it this way: an American who is watching ABC television is an American who is not reading FR.
And a license to broadcast at a certain power at a certain frequency at a particular location would be no big deal except that you and I are censored from being able to broadcast in competion to the FCC licensee. Reread the First Amendment and justifiy to yourself that its intent is to allow the federal government to favor Dan Rather's employer over your right to communicate, or mine!
The FCC is the State. They wouldn't dare bite the hand of the statist f!!cks in the media that help to see the state gets bigger. I kinda wish you were right, but I mostly wish the FCC was about 4 people in a poorly lit office lookin for things to do. Instead they are government workers and therefore less than the best people they can be for the planet and generally engaged in systematic attempts to see that the USUNFEDGOV gets bigger, not smaller. So, anyway, < /rant>...
but, sorry, no way in hell, IMHO, will the FCC do a damned thing except pray for a more powerful USUNFEDGOV.
CBS AND ABC take a credibility hit

Exactly, they are the enemy within.
Out of curiosity, other than Monday Night Football, what is there on that wasteland to watch now?
If ever I am asked whether I watched a Network broadcast I will say no unless it was a sporting event, because it will be true. I find anything but history channel and FNC and a few similar cable channels to be boorriinngg.I created this thread three years ago, and have continually updated it since with thoughts from other threads about the contours of the problem of "media bias" (I prefer to call it "the perspective of journalism") and how it might be addressed.
