What's Fat Teddy getting so upset about? He likes this legislation because it meeans nothing to him; all his family's crimes are male on female (at least, so far as we know).

I wish they would outlaw murder and rape and theft while they're at it!

The Human Rights Campaign, one of the nation's largest homosexual advocacy groups, also blasted the House Republican leaders for killing a measure that had "broad bipartisan support."

Well, apparently it had even more broad bipartisan opposition.

What they need to do is simply increase the penalty for crimes where the sole purpose of the crime is to inflict damage or pain upon the victim and the primary motive is simply that the assailant didn't like the victim. That should cover just about everything without worrying about what the assailant was thinking about at the time.

I said we'd be sorry that Karl Rove insisted on saving Arlen Specter.

"Sens. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.). Gordon Smith (R-Ore.), and Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) sponsored the measure."

Specter isn't just an occasional RINO. He has a long history of troublemaking. He doesn't just vote on bills where his vote doesn't really count.

We have been promised that he will support President Bush's Supreme Court nominees after the election. I don't believe it for a minute. The man is a total scum. We'd have been better off with a Democrat in his seat, if necessary.

Geez. Why don't they just take care of it all at once - everything is a hate crime unless its against a white male Republican.

This is one reason that I could care less whether Specter wins or loses. He definitely is a RINO.

***"Since the September 11th attacks, we've had a shameful increase in the number of hate crimes committed in our country against Arabs and Muslims -- murders, beatings, arson, attacks on mosques, shootings, and other assaults."***

What's Fat Teddy drinking these days? We ALREADY have a hate crime law covering religion and nationality. He's pandering, pandering, pandering.

The GOP understands the 14th Amendment and equal protection under the law. Why is killing a queer just murder if you're gay, but murder AND a hate (read: thought) crime if you're not?

Why do queers and other members of politically noisy groups get special protections when your basic American gets plain old protection?

"Hate Crime" laws punish people for 'hate' as the motivator for their crimes.

So all you folks who want to kill minorities just remember to make it look like a robbery and if you get caught be sure to tell the police you did it for the money. You'll still fry, of course, but they won't convict you of (gasp!) a HATE CRIME.

The whole 'Hate Crime' thing is meant to eventually extend the range of crimes to speech as has been done in Canada where preaching portions of the Bible, the Torah, the Penteteuch are punishable by law. Of course, the Queer'an has passages about killing just about anyone and that's perfectly legal.

They should be removing such "hate crime" laws.

All violent crimes are crimes of hatred. Why give any of them special treatment?

If it infuriated Senator Hiccup, there must have been something in there about not prosecuting those that have let others drown.
