Despite a spate of mass-casualty suicide bombings, insurgency attacks against the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq have dropped significantly over the last five months.

A study by Special Operations Consulting-Security Management Group Inc., a private firm that operates in Iraq, said the average number of daily attacks in Iraq has been 80 during September. This marked a decrease of 33 percent since April 2004, when 120 daily attacks were reported.

And how many coalition aircraft have been hit by enemy missiles in the last 3 months? That story's been successfully shelved, too.

We've killed 1/3 of the murderers.

The most violent province was identified as Anbar. The study reported 332 attacks against the U.S.-led coalition and civilian contractors in Anbar. Anbar is located along the border with Syria and the U.S. military has been fighting insurgents and weapons smugglers in a major operation since July.

Syria's border with Iraq is a hot spot? Can't be because the media are calling them Iraqi insurgents.

Didn't I hear John Edwards say during the debates that the US Iraq casualty rate went successively higher for each of the last 3 month?

Another Edwards lie?

Probably true, and probably because we have been taking the fight to the enemy. And an enemy on the run would explain the reduction in attacks by the enemy.

Dang it, I'm ashamed to admit I hadn't really thought of that.

I don't see that much TV news, but the 3-4 times I have in the past couple of weeks
there is usually a picture of a US helicopter gunship loosing a few rockets.

And I can't remember the date of the last loss of life in a US military helicopter crash
in Iraq.
(not to say there haven't been any in the past few months, but it sure is
less than a year ago)

Accurate, BUT Edward still mislead the debate audience by giving the distinct impression that the numbers were significantly higher:

The same clowns who derided Bush 41 for "not finishing the job" and removing Saddam from power in 1991 are now the opposition to removing Saddam from power by Bush #43. While pushing John "Cut & Run" Kerry as a war hero, they lambast Bush for "cowardly" serving in the guard.

The dimwits say that the nation is divided, yet are the root cause of the division by confusing issues and muddying the truth, or attempting to pull fraud on the US. The democrats devided us once before (1861), and have the gall to say that is Bush's fault as well. While they perpetuate their own lies and distortions, they call President Bush and Vice President Cheney liars and such, yet applaud liars such as Al Gore and Bill Clinton. Military service didn't matter when a draft dodger ran for President.

I'll take Bush's 6 years to Kerry's questionable 3 1/2 months any day and Kerry proved himself to be a traitor. If there is anyone in this country with a backbone, the criminals at the top of the DNC would all be cell mates, or one day we will find ourselves involved in Civil War once again.

Casualties coming back up, July-Aug-Sept, but dropping again in October. At the current rate, October (1.09/ day) will be the lowest since February.
