Absolutely. Prayers going out that PM Howard is re-elected and rewarded for his brave stance in this global war on terror.

Yes. I would greatly enjoy seeing the PM stay in office and Kerry's sister and her ragtag group 'American's for Kerry,' or whatever's it's name is, get ground into the dirt.

Dear God, please let John Howard win.
To: Betaille
Polls are very difficult in Australia due to preferential voting. The consensus has it as a tossup.

We really need a win here. John Howard has backed us 100%. Proportional to population, Australia lost as heavily at Bali as we did on 9/11.
Voter turnout isn't an issue, as Australians are required by law to vote.

Australian papers say Howard projected to win by a nose. But, it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Australians are required by law to vote.
That has always struck me as completely bizarre.
No matter how apathetic and uniformed you are, you MUST vote.
The GOP would never win another election in this country if that were the case here.

Latham may be in trouble for health care for elderly, underestimated cost by around 700 million dollars. That could hurt him.

How do the polls look? When will we know who won in US eastern time? Right now, in Sydney, it is 7:02am, Saturday morning...so they are 14 hours ahead of those on the east coast.
Right now, eastern time is 5:05pm Friday, so my uneducated guess would be 7am EDT Saturday for you...assuming that their polls close at 8pm, as do ours.
This might be wrong, you can check www.timeanddate.com for more time-zone information.
And yes, I do hope that Diana Kerry gets laughed out of the country after Mr. Howard is re-elected.
