Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, will attend a rally Monday where the vice president will accept the endorsement of the Eastern Division of the National Troopers Coalition.
The rally will take place at Lenape High School in Medford at 10 a.m. The entire National Troopers Coalition has already endorsed President Bush. The coalition is comprised of state police troopers and highway patrol officers.
The visit will be the second event in the state for the Bush campaign that is not a fund-raiser, said Brian Nelson, spokesman for the New Jersey Republican State Committee. First Lady Laura Bush attended a rally Sept. 16 in Hamilton Township.
Bush and John Kerry are locked in a very close race in the state, which has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, when Bush's father won the election.
Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards was in Bayonne Wednesday for a town hall meeting, and in Newark on Sept. 28 for a rally.
Very intersting. NJ is in play!
Both Edwards and Cheney making visits to NEW JERSEY, for God's sake!
Damn....that is close to me .....but I have to work.
I wish it was close to me. The only time Bush or Cheney was in NYC or in Queens was during the convention. Oh well. At least I can live vicariously thru Freepers who post their experiences at Bush Rallies! I love reading those posts! :-)
I have a feeling the election will turn definitively one way or another in the final week.
Don't you live in NJ? Got tickets?
LS,
I've seen you posting no worries when it comes to Ohio on a lot of the threads. Even though I may have a moment of nervousness about the election, I have to say that your statements, plus Cheney going to a state like NJ instead of one of "our states" makes me feel a ton better.
Cheney needs to make the point that importing drugs from Canada will seriously hurt the state of New Jersey since it has so many big drug companies.
One are of concern for Kerry, for example, HAS to be Rasmussen showing Illinois by only 11 for Kerry. Now I know it's Ras, but still. Kerry should have Illinois by 20 points--especially since Keyes is providing no help whatsoever.
I'd love to see Dubya in the Garden State. He should appear with Rudy Giuliani and make a heartfelt speech about 9-11 and all those from New Jersey who were lost.
