BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A video released by Muslim militants on Friday showed them beheading British hostage Kenneth Bigley, a Reuters witness said.

Bigley was shown making a statement as six militants stood behind him, before one cut his head off with a knife.

Guerrilla sources in the rebel-held city of Falluja said earlier that he was killed on Thursday afternoon in Latifiya, a Sunni Muslim town southwest of Baghdad.

The tape showed Bigley wearing an orange jump suit of the type worn by detainees in U.S. prisons including the detention center at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Hey, Reuters. Isn't it time to quit calling them "Muslim militants"? If you can't call them terrorists, how about "murderers"?

My prayers go to his family. Bush sorely needs to understand the purpose of war. He is still too worried about world opinion if the US military is unleashed. Until that happens, we and the Brits et al will continue to pay for that mistake.

This guy and his family did more to undermine Tony Blair and his government's decsision to help the U.S. rid the world of Saddam Hussein than just about any other single event since the conflict began.

That is so true. The family has done everything to show support for the scum that kidnapped Bigley. I even heard his brother agree on everything a lunatic jihadist was saying in a radio interview (this mudslime told the presenter that he rejoiced on 9-11).

Bigleys brother was also due to speak at an anit-war protest this weekend. But none of that saved his brother and the terrorists took full advantage of the pressure the family were placing on Blair. Imagine if a British soldier was captured during WW2 and the family were campaigning on behalf of nazis in an effort to get him released. Also, 2 Americans were beheaded before Bigley was, but that little detail was rarely mentioned during this sorry saga. May they rest in peace.

There is only one way to deal with the Muslim problem. Every Non-Muslim killed.... ten mosques leveled during their daily terrorist meetings and leveling one "holy" site, starting with Mecca.

Reuters is sending correspondents to beheadings now?

Why not, they support the terrorists, who they call insurgents. Thus they are more than happy to provide the video equipment, and the terrorists are happy to have them there.

"generators"???

Genitals -- slight hardware difference there...

Depends on what sort fo "generators" you mean, there are other sorts than electrical generators. Genitals do help "generate" new people you know.

Perhaps if a neighborhood was destroyed each time there was a beheading, they might think twice?

Nah, they wouldn't care. Most of 'em are foreigners (to Iraq) anyway, so it wouldn't be their neighborhoods that got used up. Besides it would also create more martyrs for them to use in their recruiting efforts.

Perhaps, but it might induce some of the locals to rat-out the evil-doers in order to save their own skin.

Ok. Now can we destroy Fallujah. Not run the bad guys out. Not give a warning. Not put in an Iraqi police force.

- before legends of its heroic resistance against the Christian Golaith will embolden and spawn more Fallujahs.

DESTROY FALLUJAH!
