GROZNY, October 8 (Itar-Tass) - Russian federal troops have eliminated four bandits in Chechnyas Kurchaloi region. According to preliminary data, one of the four men was a foreign mercenary, an Afro-American.According to a source in the regional headquarters of the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus, work is in progress on the dead mans documents, including a passport and a drivers license.
But the article never said he was a muslim.
Worthless scumbag was probably from Baton Rouge, LA. They have a pretty militant mosk out in that area. John Malvo is one example of the POS that comes from there.
Now that would make his presence in Chechnia even more peculiar
Why did you say Whitey? And personally the race being mentioned is a bunch of croak and the original poster knew it. They did it for just what is going on now.
Maybe he was a member of the black panthers. I guess the story will unfold a little later. Jihadwatch usually follows these in greater detail.
It may be perculiar but the article never said he was a muslim.
Great summary!
Some historical background:
NEWSWEEK-August 12,1968 (abridged)"Last week members of a Marine reconnaissance patrol told of a skimish fought with an enemy unit near the town of Phu Bai. Among the Viet Cong killed was the apparent leader of the guerilla band-a slender young Caucasian with long brown hair.
The young white man was wearing a shabby green uniform with a red sah tied across his chest. In his hands was an AK-47, the Soviet-designed weapon used by the North Vietnamese regulars.
The Marines are convinced that the guerilla leader was an American, a Marine enlisted man who has been carried as missing in action since 1965.
In the past few months, they add, they have received a number of reports of Americans operating with the Viet Cong units in the Phu Bai area."
______________
So I find this Chechnya incident quite interesting...
No, you'd be wrong, race is of importance, and the reasons are pointed out in this thread.
AL-Quada has been trying to recruit "less conspicuous" people of different ethnic backgrounds that can move around without drawing attention to themselves.
This guy, being black and in Chechnya is out of place.
This makes one wonder why he was there, what faction he belonged to, if he was a new convert to Islam, etc.
Color is very relevant in this case.
JWers rock!
Should read"...red sash tied..."
No, you'd be wrong. The appropriate question would not be his race but his religious affiliation. If Al Q has been trying to recruit people that are less conspicuous. Then a black man in Russia is not less conspicuous but more.
So, it still does not answer the question of why the poster added the race to the article. Except to incite this discussion.
I don't seem to be getting an answer from the original thread starter, so I'll ask you:
What is the relevance of the man's race to this story?
Well newbie, I believe a few people have already answered you but I'll give it a shot anyway:
Which brings us to 'Relevance';
So if you don't see the RELEVANCE, I believe you're on the wrong website and should mosey over to www.bleedingheartliberals.com.
ps: I suggest you stop the race baiting - it won't fly here.
Sorry, next time I'll post sarcasm with an alert.
Get real. Had his race not been mentioned, everyone would have assumed he was a white or near white guy that blended in with the ethnic population of the region, maybe chechnya being his ancestral homeland, and he being a muslim born and raised.
A black guy in the region sticks out like a sore thumb. Consider it from the point of view of someone who lives there, and seldom if ever see's black people.
hardly a position I would want to be in if I was trying to carry out terrorist activity. Might as well paint me florescent orange and put a flashing light on my head.
So, I can assume one thing, and that this guy was real dumb. You'd think he'd go fight for "Allah" in a place where black muslims don't draw attention to themselves.
I think you have sensitivity issues that prevent you from seeing the relevance of his color to this particular story.
The mention of his skin color points out something peculiar in this story. it isn't a slam against blacks like you seem to be suggesting.
And, you really don't know what color I am, do you?
You assumed I'm white. You really have no cause to, except as I said, your personal misguided sensitivity to this article and the poster pointing out that the perp was black.
I bet you assumed it was meant in a derogatory way before you even read the article, and considered the location and cother variables. Thus, you blinded yourself to the importance of the fact.
The only reason I read it was that it said "US Black". Criminy, mercernaries fighting for the Chechyns aren't news.
Now, did somebody say, "Cracker"?
Your original post-you knew it by perception. You were perceptive enough about this board to know that adding the persons race would incite the postings that have occurred. If you didn't you would have allowed the person to read the article, read the race, and then make whatever comments they wanted.
All of the posts that followed with such statements about black women, afros, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton....you can read.
So, I'm pinging you cause they all relate back to you.
Maybe you don't want to admit you made a mistake. But it's okay just try to refrain from such acts in the future or you will get these type of responses.
