PARIS - A small bomb exploded outside the Indonesian Embassy in Paris on Friday, slightly wounding nine people, France's interior minister said.
The bomb was in a package at the base of a flagpole. The explosion shattered windows and damaged several cars, and police set up barriers to block access to the area.
French Interior Minister Dominique de Villepin said most of the wounded were hurt by flying glass. Rescue workers led several people from the scene, which was crowded with fire trucks and ambulances.
The embassy is located in the exclusive 16th district of Paris.
Indonesia is preparing to inaugurate a new leader after President Megawati Sukarnoputri was defeated in an election last month.
Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono won a landslide victory in the Sept. 20 polls. The U.S.-educated retired army general was to be inaugurated on Oct. 20.
The election was the first in which Indonesia's 210 million people voted for their president directly. The ballot was praised as a key step in the country's transition to democracy after the downfall of ex-dictator Suharto in 1998.
Not our war!
How soon afterward did they ask the US for 5000 troops to protect them?
I bet it was still LOUD.
"No problem then... it was only a small bomb."
Yep, and it wasn't a "French" target, so that just shows that appeasement works!! (heavy sarcasm)!!
ps apologies for the "french" on the bottle which I didn't design- I just saw that. I only inserted Chiracs visage into the beautiful picture :).
LOL.. I was in Greece a few years ago during a very heated election. Windows were blown out of our hotel including mine. A Greek friend said not to worry it was only a small bomb, I was amazed at that type of thinking.
This couldn't possibly be the work of islam's finest, Indonesia type?
"A military response is never the solution. Only diplomacy is a solution. Ever.
That must be why the French want to lift the arms embargo to China:

Yep. And why our soldiers found warehouses full of (new) French weapons all over Iraq.
And in other news, France has declared that tomorrow, all across France, in place of the French flag, white bed sheets will be raised at half-mast on every flag pole. That is of course contingent on the availability of unsoiled bed sheets. ;)
Good now the Frenchies can deal with their own home grown Islamofascists....good luck Chirac...hope ya have fun cause we ain't gonna help you out
Too bad they didn't take out the Eiffel Tower.
Swear to God:
I wonder how they'd react to a demand that they take back the Statue of Ungrateful Masses or pay rent on the island we're storing it on....

"Chirac is not France,"
Could have fooled me.
"We are many in out country against Chirac,"
Could have fooled me.
"He doesn't like his country,"
That's because he won't be satisfied until he rules all of Europe.
"Don't you see that"
See what? France has been backstabbing the United States for years, and the proof is in the way they reacted to the attacks we have endured.
I'm sorry....but I don't trust France.
