Yep. I don’t know if you recall this or not, but Bernardin, an avid Democrat, was worried after 1980 when Reagan whipped Carter and Catholics were starting to vote more and more GOP, and the Congress was becoming less Donkey. It was at Fordam in 1983 that Bernardin announced his “Seamless Garment” theory and thus “freed” Catholics to vote for pro-abort pols.

Bernardin also made arrangements for a gay choir to sing at his funeral Mass, which they did, behind a large banner identifying themselves as gay. I believe they were the Windy City Gay Men’s Choir (or Chorus).
