What was the State Department thinking when it invited the UN/Global socialists to interfere with our independent election process??? Madness, pure madness!!!

They were thinking what they always think about, how to kowtow to foreigners and plant their lips firmly on their buttocks for the sake of America's "image" abroad.

Welcome to America..the land of Communism. If this happens then we have changed our freedom to communism, we already have a controlled press.

In other words, the Democrats intend to file a massive amount of lawsuits if things don’t go their way.

Or to defend the decision based on voter fraud.

Well, when they selected a disgraced, impeached former Federal Judge- the ghastly Alcee Hastings- to preside, they kind of lost any and all credibility with me.

Very well said, pierrem15. But why would Republicans allow such a hostile international entity to cast doubt on the elections should Pres. Bush win. Shouldn't they at least put up a fight? Makes no sense at all.

The state department is a leftist bureaucracy itself.

Hopefully we have the CIA monitoring these people.

But why would Sec. Powell go along with this? Why are the Republicans waiting till the election is over to deal with these wolves? Do you suppose they are unaware of what this group of global socialists plan to do? What a mess.

“The presence of monitors will assure Americans that America cares about their standing in the world.”

I'd wager the majority of Americans don't give a flying donut what the rest of the world thinks. The presence of votes, if accurately counted, will assure the rest of the world of just what we think.

Who're the clowns who left this door open?

I agree, but we have to remember that the permanent gov feels humiliated by Bush and wants him out of office as much as the Dems do, so they will do anything to hurt Bush, the country be damned.

What I blame Bush for is not cleaning out the rats nests at CIA, FBI, and State as soon as he took office, and especially after 9/11, when he would have had the political support to do so.

This is not good. Florida could potentially be child's play compared to what these imposters of impartiality are capable of doing. And it would appear that Powell was duped, at least in part, into going along with this charade:

From article: "Consider the players in this game. Secretary of State Colin Powell legitimized the presence of foreign election monitors by inviting the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). A spokesman for the OSCE said the group’s purpose in the election is to “apply political pressure.” That group, headquartered in Vienna, Austria, is led by one of the most corrupt politicians in the United States."

Amen to that! Bush lost an amazing opportunity. That's the problem with "compassionate conservatism."

Start with Secretary of State Colin (Cancer) Powell.

Now that the door has already been "opened" the Bush administration should follow every one of these people with video cams and constantly film ALL of their activities. I sure hope the Bush campaign is aware of what's going on.

Just one more bit of proof that our government is broken, my friend. Beyond the point of conventional political repair, most likely. This is happening with the supposed good guys in charge. How scary is that?

Good question. I don't think Powell did it on purpose. He's just not predisposed to pick up on how insidious these people are (although, he probably should by now).

Are those organizations covered by the Civil service "Reform" act of 1877 (1879?) ? I thought at least some bureaus and agencies cannot have any of their employees terminated or laid off...Part of the "reform" of ending the older "spoils system". But that's from my hazy memories of my high school civics class, so Lord knows I could be misremembering.
