I predict a division among Freepers on this post. Some will offer up their civil rights to "protect America," while others will point out that their civil rights are inviolable.
This is one of the key issues, along with second amendment issues that divides the members of the Free Republic community.
Sadly, I agree with your take on this. Unfortunately, most of the libertarians and Buchannan type "paleo-conservatives" (who voted FOR Bush in 2000) have long since FR, especially since the aftermath of 9/11. Many of them were either banned, or driven away by some of the neo-con trolls and Bush/Cheney campaign Kool Aid drinking posters here. still the best blog around... you won't get this kind of dialogue at any dummacrat site!!
