If this is true, than this bill is damn wrong. I need to take a look at it.

I suppose Kerry or Hillary would have to be elected first. I don't think that will happen. And I know you hope I’m right.

Also, if we were being watched, then we would need to do something illegal to get busted. I suppose we could go into conspiracy theories about the way we could be framed, but that could happen today, even without big brother looking over us. Let’s face it; many government officials have the power to make an individual’s life hell if they wanted. Just think of what a low level IRS agent could do to you.

Got it from the same source that Cheney used in support of the WMD lies. /sarcasm off

Well, you are just so clever. And original.

Ok, time to get the NRA involved.

Seems to me the dems doted on ole "stroke of the pen...law of the land' Clintler
a little lost liberty shouldn't bother them in the least....being as they are the biggest liberty grabbers of them all.....

No matter what immigration laws they pass they still wont effectively seal the borders
so what's the point of passing laws ya wont implement anyway...at least not in the intended way

RICCO being a great example...passed to shut down organized crime...under the Clintons it was used to arrest, fine, and imprison Pro Life activists...

imo

I think it is a far leap to equate the U.S. government to the Nazis.

Sorry. I missed that one. It still deserves another post, since so many seem to ignore the real threat of this bill against real conservatives.

I grow so weary of those who simply accept anything anyone who puts an (R) after their name says. This is a wrong piece of legislation. How to make people understand that is a real dilemma.

FR is supposed to be a CONSERVATIVE forum, not a rubber stamp for anyone who calls him/herself a Republican. At least, that's my understanding of the function of FR. If I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me.

Knowing the ACLU is involved is a red flag that this isn't good. The ACLU has a history of being on the wrong side of rights.

Ain't that the truth! Many have drunk the Neo-Con Kool Aid, and many (most?) conservatives have left, or been banned.

Re Airport Metal Detectors... Move them to the airport firing range. They'd make OK target holders. At least for a while.

The founding fathers plan for maintaining both liberty AND security, is contained in the Second Amendment.

"A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." -- Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

Actually, the equation was "you don't have anything to worry about if you're not doing anything wrong".

Nice try, though.

Quite simply, anything -- and I mean ANYTHING both the ACLU and la Raza are against MUST be a good thing.

If the ACLU is against this legislation that is good enough reason for me to be for it. The ACLU, and liberals in general, are perfect reverse barometers of what is good and bad for our society.

"So...you are comparing republicans to Nazi's are you?"

As I posted earlier, "SOME" are comparable to nazis - as some Democrats are, too. And there certainly are a lot of bureaucrats, military contractors and others on the taxpayers dole here in Washington who ARE nazis, or at least act like them.

IMHO, ANYONE who supports gun control and government databases containing private information regarding its citizens IS a fascist at best, a nazi or communist at worst.

Are they? You're aware that they're working with Rush Limbaugh about his medical record? On the raw edge of civil rights, the ACLU is non-partisan. They do a lot of stuff that's questionable, but not on that subject.

Please read the legislation. Don't form your decision based solely on who's against it. Down that road is an ugly, ugly place....one you don't want to live in.

They are just keeping the pot on simmer and we have adapted to the rising heat quite well, don't you think?

It is my understanding that the training that the bill refers to is by foreign entities, the NRA would not be covered by this.
