And there was peace in the area when the "settlers" were not in Gaza and the "West Bank"?

Relationships in the Middle East have changed considerably since the 1960s and 70s. It is not the same world that it was before. What I said in my previous post was simply the common view of the Arab person on the street in the Middile East. Freepers complain they don't see mass marches in the streets condemning actions like this. Like it or not, for there to be any chance that the situation gets better, this must happen.

I really don't think there will be peace in the Middle East until the barbarians have been soundly beaten or until they learn that peace is more prosperous and desirable.

There has always been violence against Israelis and wars since it's modern creation in 1948.

The reason Israel had the Sinai and Gaza was due to the Arabs starting a war and having their rears kicked but good.

Israel kept those lands to provide a buffer against them and their enemies.

The Golan Heights was kept so that they had the upper land to keep an eye on their enemies to the north of them and to provide a better defensive position in the event of another invasion from that direction.

Even if Israel gave up all the lands they won fair and square after the unprovoked attacks, the Arabs would still be committing terrorism and murdering Jews and anyone else they could get their hands on.

If every other race/nationality/religion were to suddenly disappear, the killing would go on. They'd just concentrate on each other.
