Warden Loses Job Over Naked Inmate Flap
ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - The warden and four other officers at a state prison lost their jobs after an investigation found that a suicidal female inmate was held naked for several days.
Investigators said Wednesday they found no evidence the 27-year-old woman and the only female inmate at Zephyrhills Correctional Institution was sexually abused.
It is unclear why the woman held in a psychiatric wing was not given clothing, or exactly how many days she was naked, Department of Corrections spokesman Sterling Ivey said.
Warden Gary Thomas; assistant warden Ray Mulally; Col. Donald Leigh, the third in command; and chief health officer Dr. Stephen Shanklin all resigned. Prison psychiatrist Dr. Noah Jeannette was fired Wednesday.
The woman's cell was private, but she may have been guarded by menstaff. She was transferred from another prison Saturday to serve her sentence for having sex while HIV (news - web sites) positive and committing battery on a law enforcement officer, Ivey said.
She's the only female at the prison? And she's HIV positive? What's wrong with this picture?
What? It's against the law to have sex with AIDS? But the Secretary of State denounced the Pope and the Catholic Church for opposing giving AIDS-infected men condoms!

I thought they sould televise executions when they were using Old Sparky. Now I'm not so sure. I guess they could televise it on the Playboy Channel.

Are you talking about McGreedy? I haven't been paying attention to that. It really doesn't matter. It's not possible to get an acceptable governor in New Jersey.
It's been about 15 years since I lived in Fla, and that's what we called her then. I don't get the connection to John Cougar Mentsrualcramp.
Some psychiatircly ill patients strip and stay stripped thoughout their acute psychosis.
What's the reason for that?
