But how do we deter people who want to die?

By learning what motivates our enemy, and demotivate him. It is an Islamic teaching that if you attack your neighboring village and it, though more powerful to you submits to paying you off, you are a hero. But if it retaliates and harms your village, you are a fool.

I disagree with the author, I think we should wipe Mecca from the map while publicly saying this is because Islam attacked us. If done properly, with great publicity it will stop the attacks in their tracks. We must declare war on Islam, and destroy that death cult to the last man. It has a hold on the people that is based in fear and pride. Break its pride, smash its power and droves will abandon the theology when they get a chance.

Islam must be shown by action to be false, and shown to be weak in the face of modern warfare. The innocent will flee, and the strongmen will find another path to power. To tolerate it in any way is to tolerate a plague among the city of mankind.

People who are fully ready to die in order to kill you and your family, who are undeterred by death, are likely not to be terribly concerned by the thought of being isolated in a more sensitive approach to John Kerry’s sworn mission to hunt down, and isolate, chastise and severely reprimand terrorists.

Terrorists don’t seem to be too afraid of stern language. But I do notice, that while the fear of death does not seem to deter these people, the fact of being dead does significantly decrease their operational effectiveness. That’s a casual observation on my part – no real Harvard study to back it up. More of a hunch, really.

Second part is even better than the first! This essay is good clear thought.
