We used to brag about the constitutional process of the transfer of power "without s shot being fired."

I remember 1980 when President Reagan allowed fomer president Jimmy Carter to greet the hostages. There was a solemn dignity to the presidency and the American constitutional system of government. The level of paranoia and hatred out there now seems to carry more than just hints of violence. Raiding campaign offices? Shots fired? Arson fires? Union thugs tearing a little girl's sign? You would think we were reading reports from the days of the Klan and the Know Nothings! Good grief... Will we see someone killed next?
