REMEMBER THE CONTRA-SANDANISTA WAR?> Kerry's Disloyal Nicaraguan Journey

Some familiar echoes from 20 years ago: Giving aid and comfort during Vietnam was bad enough. But it was more of the same in the 1980's, when he and Vietnam pal  Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) met with the enemy in Nicaragua. When some in Congress criticized this trip as violating the Constitution, Kerry's refrain: he was "...a veteran of Vietnam who fought and was wounded in that conflict."  Secretary of State George Shultz called a spade a spade, " The litany of apology for communists, and condemnation for America and our friends, is beginning again."

Even his liberal detractors within the Democratic Party, had long accused him of "all style, no substance." The 2004 debate sound familiar?

Article:

In his first major foreign-policy action as a U.S. senator nearly 20 years ago, John Kerry accused the United States of "funding terrorism." Fresh from a trip to the Far East, Kerry made his sensational allegation in Washington before flying to Nicaragua, then in the grip of a Marxist-Leninist junta, to coauthor a propagandistic peace proposal designed to disarm the U.S.-backed forces fighting to oust the Soviet-backed Sandinista regime...

Thank you for the link. I have printed out this article and will be providing a copy to everyone that I know. This is definitely his achilles heel. What is humorous is that the DUers are always wondering why he is not touting his accomplishments in "busting Reagan and the terrorist bank" they claim that he can use this scandal to prove that he "was fighting terrorism while the rest of the world slept". All it proves to any reasonable person is that sKerry is against US security--and followed an extremely pro-communist line. The fact that he fought Reagan at every turn, while he was trying to defeat the communists is not going to win lots of votes.

Yes, part of Kerry's stellar Senate career where his greatest achievements were
Stopping the funding for the Nicaraguan Contras after bring back a peace agreement with Daniel Ortega of the Sandanistas (which was worthless). Ortega turned around and solicited $200 million from the Soviets a few days later. Read not only Kerry's Disloyal Nicaraguan Journey but also Don't forget 'The John Kerry Committee'

Investigating (or creating) the Iran/Contra and BCCI scandals.

Blocking the vote on the Vietnam Human Rights Act in the Senate in 2001, which tied U.S. aid to Vietnam's human rights performance, and had passed by a 410-1 margin in the House of Representatives. Kerry, chairman of the Senate's East Asian and Pacific Affairs subcommittee, said in a statement at the time that he and fellow Vietnam War veteran Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) "are concerned that denying aid to Vietnam would actually slow human rights improvements." Many Vietnamese living abroad, along with human rights campaigners, say conditions in Vietnam have deteriorated in the three years since Kerry blocked the legislation.

Persuading the MIA/POW Senate committee to vote unanimously that no POWs existed in Vietnam in order to open up trade with Vietnam (his cousin C. Stewart Forbes, CEO of Colliers Intl, received a contract for a huge commercial deal worth at least $905 million to develop a deep-sea commercial port at Vung Tau). For more on the POW/MIA issue, here is a great article: When John Kerry's Courage Went M.I.A. - Senator covered up evidence of P.O.W.'s left behind

John Kerry sat before the Senate, I believe in '85, reciting his Cambodia at Christmas story. Since then he says he must be mistaken about the times. Well I see a few things here.

One- his "seared" memory is noticeably FAULTY. And for a perfect specimen as JF'nK, that would be a major faux pas. Not to mention it would not be in the best interests of this country, to have a president with major memory problems.

Second- if he was lying, I mean nuancing, his story, just to impress people with his heroism, then again not someone good for the presidency. Lets see, nuancing ones story, so that others view you more favorably, at the cost of national security or national interests.

Lastly-nuancing a story, to purposely steer national security or national interests, for personal gain or reasons. Also not a good trait for an American president. Oh we already had one of those, so I guess it makes it alright.

My one thought is, why don't the Pubbies hammer Kerry on this? No matter how you look at this one important subject, its damning to sKerry.

To vote against Bush is one thing, but to vote for Kerry out of spite, or not knowing his 'fellow-traveler" leanings speaks volumes.

No wonder the MSM will not report the facts. How many really remember the background of Kerry's un-American activities then?

It reminds me of a quote regarding illegal immigration that would apply if, god forbid, Kerry got into office: "The U.S. may be the only nation in history to adopt policies assuring its own self-destruction."

Several posters in here are emailing this article to their contacts, especially for the skeptics, misinformed, or clueless. Not only do that, but have them pass it on, etc..

Here is another suggestion:

The highly regarded conservative website The Federalist, has a petition http://patriotpetitions.us/kerry/ to be sent to Senate President Richard Cheney, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Attorney General John Ashcroft. In addition the results are sent to the media and various organizations.

Kerry Should be Prosecuted and Disqualified from National Office

Signers: 163615

John Kerry has a long and well-documented history of providing "aid and comfort" to the enemy in time of war -- particularly in the case of North Vietnam. By his own account, Kerry violated the UCMJ, the Geneva Conventions and the U.S. Code while serving as a Navy officer, and he further stands in violation of Article three, Section three of the U.S. Constitution which defines treason as "giving aid and comfort" to the enemy in time of warfare. Thus, in accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states, "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof," We, the People of the United States, demand that Kerry be prosecuted and disqualified from public office.

I've forwarded this on to my contacts and encouraged them to pass it on, etc..  Again, at the very least it may wake up the doubters and misinformed.
