Unfortunately, it has blown right past $50. There is no "top" right now.

Thank God there is only a month until the election, because this could start to get messy.

I'm really starting to wonder if the old boy's tweaking the market a pinch...

China's only part of the issue. I think the market's pricing in some sort of conflagration in Iran.

Israel will strike before the year is out, IMHO. If Bush wins, it could be before December. The mullahs aren't counting on Sharon raising his sword against them with the so-called "spread out" weapons program. They're going to be very very surprised... and the rest of Middle East will stand by and watch.

I filled up my car yesterday to the tune of $2.399 per gallon here in California.

I am sick of speculation driving the market when supply and demand is just fine. OY!

This run up on oil prices is based on future contracts on speculation. It does not adequately reflect the supply-demand side of the equation. Bottom line is the traders are making a killing at the expense of everyone else.

My liberal girlfriend insists that its Bush's fault. Bush went to Iraq for the oil yadda yadda. I asked her "well, if Bush went for oil, wouldn't he be selling it to us cheaper now?" and she had no response.

Prediction:

Tops out at $55.43 and then starts to fall on 11/3 after Bush is re-elected.

Does anyone have a graph of oil/gasoline prices in constant dollars for the last 40 years?

We did go to war in Iraq for oil. Seriously. But the question I would ask your girlfriend is this, "how far are you willing to walk to work each day?" Because without the oil from the middle east, a lot more Americans are going to be getting their daily exercise during their daily commute!

Bush should ask John Kerry to predict the path our economy will take if the Saudi's suddenly stop pumping oil.

In California, you should pay $10.00 per gallon as long as you do not permit drilling off your coast. Why should we in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama be the only states that permit drilling.

Chose between reasonable oil prices and drilling, nothing unfair about that.

Well, unfortunately CA is controlled by socialists, and we've been trying for years to get them out. Don't blame it on ME.....I ALWAYS vote against them.

Old futures lore: "He who sells what isn't his'n, must pay up or go to prison".
