FACSIMILE MEMORANDUM

re: VVAW; Senator assassination vote
Mary:
Your boss claims to not be biased. Fair enough. But actions speak louder than words. You chased a story for five years intended to do harm to the President.
Let's see how unbiased you are. Let's see how balanced you are. On Nov. 12-15, 1971 the Vietnam Veterans Against the War met in Kansas City. They ultimately moved the meeting to a Mennonite flophouse because they were worried about FBI bugs. Until a few months ago, Senator Kerry denied being there. Witnesses placed him there and his campaign spokesman finally commented that it was "an interesting historical footnote."
At that meeting, the VVAW reportedly had a debate and a vote on whether to assassinate several U.S. Senators who supported the war.
To his credit, Kerry resigned his leadership position. But I can find no reference that he reported a conspiracy to assassinate senators to any law enforcement agency.
Surely, you must realize that this is a huge story. Surely, a TV news producer who is interested in the news, not merely a partisan agenda, would do this story.
Reporter Tom Lipscomb will be overjoyed to provide the roadmap for you. He can be reached at xxxxxxxxxx. Or would you like him to call you?

Beautiful!!!
Good job. I'm sure she'll be all over it.
Note to all. You now have her fax number if you have anything to suggest to her. :)
I can see this happening.......NO WAY does CBS do this, they are in the back pockets of the DNC.
Doug from upland,
You have my heartfelt respect. I think this is the BIG story about Kerry myself.
Kerry was there. A plot to kill U.S. Senators was discussed. He did not even walk out...he waited until all the discussion had occurred and supposedly voted no. I'll assume that he voted no even if I don't know for a fact that he did. But, he did not report this to the police, the FBI. He did not even walk out of the meeting in disgust.
What a really good idea. I think Ms. Mapes should be pelted with daily story ideas. How about:
1. Why Mr. Kerry unlike the President, Senator McCain etal. has not signed DOD standard form 180 to release his all his military information?
2. Why Mr. Kerry has not unlike all recent campaigns released the tax returns of his immediate family?
3. Why Mr. Kerry will not release his attendence records for closed Intellegence Committee hearings?
Surely an unbiased journalist like Ms. Mapes would be interested in such story tips?
Of course she won't do it. But let's get it out there front and center on blogs around the nation. Please send this to all of the sites you frequent and to your email list. I have a feeling someone might be changing an email number.
Bump
This is a question for anyone really. Does anyone know whether Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden named one of their children after a person who plotted to kill a US senator? I thought that I had heard that on A&E Biography or something similar.
That's gonna leave a mark.
Lots of facts and quotes about the president-wannabe at the John F. Kerry Timeline.
.
It might be added that he appears to have resigned from the organization at that time. But did he? Is there any record of his formal resignation, or did he just quietly cease attending meetings?
Also, several earlier threads, I think posted some months ago and probably last year, said that the New York Times continued to refer to Kerry as an officer of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and that Kerry seems to have done nothing to contradict these stories. Did Kerry tell the Times that he had resigned, or did he continue to benefit from the political chic of being a muckamuck in an antiwar organization?
I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he designed his leadership position there. He did, however, appear at VVAW events afterwards.
You have to be a trapshooter.
duh -- resigned, not designed (FGQTB - fingers going quicker than brain)
Here's Challange #2..

Let's see how unbiased you are. Let's see how balanced you are. There are TWO major candidates for President of the U.S. and BOTH have military records that have gaps and anomalies.
In particular, John Kerry has posted on his web site a citation for a non-existent medal - a Silver Star with V - no such award has ever been made in the history of the Navy. Moreover, the citation, 12 years after the incident, is supposedly authored by John Lehman, the then Secretary of the Navy, who denies any involvement in it or ever signing it.
Secondly, John Kerrys Honorable Discharge is dated 1991, some twenty years after he completed his tour. He refuses to sign a form 180 that would release his 1970s records that might shed light on why there is a 20 year gap in the end of his service commitment and his eventual honorable discharge.
These, and other items, are at least as newsworthy as any allegations that Bush missed a medical or received preferential treatment.
I look forward to you equally as aggressive investigation of these anomalies as that which you showed in your pursuit of President Bush.

I think Mapes needs to find out:
1. When DID Kerry run the Boston marathon
AND
2. How fast did he run it?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1235989/posts
Me thinks there is verification of this (Kerry being in attendance at this meeting) in the 20,000+ pages of FBI files released on Kerry (through a FOIA).........posted on WinterSoldier.com......am I right about seeing this, or am I daydreaming??
Anyone??
