I do not know how many people watched the raw video the debate. I watched it and enjoyed the debate that was devoid of the narrators. Certainly in my mind, Vice President Cheney spanked Senator Edwards like one would do to a puppy that just soiled the living room carpet.

I believe that without the commentators, the message that VP Cheney was conveyed loud and clear. Also, VP Cheney was gracious enough to let slide the snide comment that referred to his daughter.

VP Cheney showed that the current administration is decisive and tough and on the right track to defeating terrorism.

Cheney's "Thank you," was absolute class!

Edwards looked stricken at that and you could see from his eyes he knew he made a terrible error.

I watched the debate on C-Span and assume their coverage was the "raw video" you describe. The format for the entire debate was split screen showing both gentlemen. After about 30 minutes, I became distracted by Edwards constant movements, writing and repeated underlining, and ripping off sheets paper from his notepad. At that point, whenever Vice President Cheney spoke, I basically watched just one side of my screen, trying my best to ignore Edwards' boisterous behavior.
