Something to Yak About - Kerry's Support For The ICC

John Kerry has been attacking the president over his remarks last week about the senator's support for the International Criminal Court. But the criticism seems to be at odds with the facts. The Boston Globe Tuesday reports Kerry told the left-wing group Peace Action, "I support US participation in the International Criminal Court," further telling The Globe in a written statement, "I will not continue the obsessive and self-defeating campaign President Bush has waged against the ICC and the close American allies that support it." Kerry's statement to The Globe also teased his 'global test' doctrine when he said all that the president has done on the ICC, "is to alienate our closest allies and diminish his own authority in the world."

Kerry Campaign Desperation Not Washing in Wheeling; Democrat Draft Bill On Tap In House

John Kerry and his campaign surrogates have been busy over the past couple months feeding people a line of bull about the president reinstating the draft, but it's not working in West Virginia. The Wheeling Intelligencer Tuesday moved this scathing appraisal of the Kerry campaign's blatant deception on the matter. Now - let's see who will blow this whistle on John Kerry's embarrassingly phony attack on President Bush and stem cell research. Ironically, HR 163, which is Democrat Charlie Rangel's legislation to bring back the draft, is on Tuesday's House Suspension Calendar. It's expected to be defeated.

Edwards Launches Full-Throated Attack on Bush Supporters

John Edwards has most often played the role of Mister Nice Guy in the Kerry campaign apparatus, but now he's unleashing a full-throated attack against people who support the president! The audio clip is from an unidentified Edwards campaign stop, and was broadcast Oct. 4 on Nightline after MNF. Unreal!

'Professional Debater' Strides to Center Stage

How often do we get to see onstage an experienced trial lawyer who's made his fortune as a professional debater? That's what's on tap tonight in Cleveland as Sen. John Edwards faces his biggest jury tonight in the vice presidential debate. Unfortunately, John Edwards has been less diligent in meeting his Senate obligations, missing dozens of votes including one for the tax relief bill President Bush signed into law Monday.

What Edwards Brings to The Table

During his brief tenure in elective office, John Edwards has managed to rack up a hugely liberal record. National Journal rated Edwards the 4th Most Liberal senator during the most recent session of Congress. As for his lawyerly acumen, John Edwards is pretty smooth alright, having set up a neat way of dodging more than half a million dollars in Medicare taxes and then signing off on a bogus attack against the president over Medicare premiums after running mate John Kerry voted for the same premium increases. Amazing!

John Edwards: The Wrong Veep At The Wrong Time?

Remember when John Kerry introduced running mate John Edwards as People Magazine's 'Sexiest Politician of the Year'? It was supposed to be a peg to pull women voters toward the Kerry-Edwards ticket, but it hasn't worked. Seems John Kerry hasn't yet learned that women voters want more than good hair in a candidate; they want an administration that gets the job done in the war on terrorism and keeps out of their pocketbook.

Another Lame Halliburton Attack?

It almost seems like John Kerry and John Edwards use Halliburton as a default invective - a virtually involuntary reflex attack for everything from Medicare to taxes. So it'll be interesting to see if John Edwards trots out the campaign's latest smear job tonight. Turns out, the whole Halliburton thing is flat-out wrong according to the non-partisan folks at Fact Check Dot Org.

The Final Yak

"As a style point, the Vice President prepared for this as he prepares for everything. He's a substance sponge and there's no gimmicks; we're not trying to be fancy or funny or gimmicky. This is an opportunity to talk the American people in the way the Vice President does." (SOURCE: BC04 Senior Advisor Mary Matalin, on Vice President Cheney's debate strategy, Oct. 4, 2004)
