of course, she disputed the charges. this just happened over the summer, so the whole thing is still unresolved. as it turns out, however, the credit card company doesn't hold out much hope that she will prevail.

I told one outfit to go ahead and post it to my credit report till they gag on it. Eventually, they reversed the charges, after telling me they could not do so for 8 months.

The fact that someone attempts to run a scam on you is not the same as you "authorizing treatment," and credit card companies are, like I am, lazy.

I kept telling them that this was how they were earning the service charges, by verifying the phony charges. They kept telling me that was MY responsibility, and I kept telling them that this was incorrect until they had the money. Until then, it is YOUR responsibility.

She may have to negotiate a settlement, since she did agree to some type of treatment, but until she actually pays the bill, she holds the cards.
