An unknown suspect fired several shots into the Bearden office of the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign Tuesday morning.

The headquarters are located at 4618 Kingston Pike, next to Noveau Classics and in the same shopping plaza as Long's Drugstore.

According to Knoxville Police Department (KPD) officers on the scene Tuesday, it is believed that the two separate shots were fired from a car sometime between 6:30 am and 7:15 am.

One shot shattered the glass in the front door and the other cracked the glass in another of the front doors.

There were no witnesses to the shooting. A customer at a nearby dry cleaning store noticed shattered glass on the sidewalk in front of the headquarters and called police.

Volunteers and staffers at the campaign office say they have no clues as to who might have committed the crime. However, they add that the shooting makes them even more enthusiastic and energized about working for their candidates.

"If I have to sleep here (at the campaign office) now, that's what I'll do," says volunteer Suzanne Dewar.

In an unexpected twist, a bank directly across the street from the headquarters was robbed just as KPD officers were busy investigating at the scene of the shooting.

At least there's no Bush/Cheney campaign workers in the story claiming it was politically motivated like that idiot was in the stolen laptops story.

It's enough to see the story, whining that something was politically motivated when there's no evidence of it is bad form.

enough evidence to label the Dems officially "enemies of the State."

The 'RATS have been enemies of the state since 1860.

Q: What's the difference between a Democrat and a battery?

A: A battery has a positive side.

by waving a gun around saying he could not take it to the debate

I wish he had, then the Secret Service could have shot his sorry ass!

Yet another income redistribution scheme.

In DU they were discussing what they were going to do when Kerry gets elected. One thing they said was they would build concentration camps for Rebublicans. They are really crazy!

The difference between Conservatives and Liberals is faith in the US. Conservatives in the past have lost elections, but we learned that the world does not come to an end. Life goes on until the next election. Conservatives have faith in the American people that they eventually will come around to reason and common sense. The liberals never had faith in the American people or the US political system. They think they hold the key to what is good for the common person. Now the average American does not support the tenets of liberalism. They are truly frightened about their future. When you are fearful, you become angry and will lash out violently when confronted with the prospects of losing power. I think we will have riots if GWB wins and I will not be surprised if a Dem activist attempts to shoot GWB if he wins.

So typical of liberal male thugs... yeah way to prove how tolerant you are by intimidating a 3 year old toddler. Bet these weenies would run with their tails tucked between their legs if they had to fight in WWII against other men! Sickening dispicable goons rough up toddlers because their own mentality is still at a third grade level. Pity them for they are truly disturbed and in a life long misery of limbo.

And this comes as a surprise to who?

Micheal Moore is getting what he wanted. People are going to die over Kerry/Bush before this is over. Kerry and his capos have spent the last 4 years on a campaign of hate, yet tonight Edwards blames Bush/Cheney for the division and Cheney says virtually nothing to counter. This whole thing is pathetic and kerry most likely will win in a landslide because of fraud and NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!

I saw this earlier today. I wonder if we are not devolving (as a society)...? We've totally lost control, and I'm not just saying those amoung us who lean left, but all of us. I see it on the interstate, in the mall, in the way neighbors treat neighbors. Self-control, restraint, and shame are dead.

Something is very wrong. Remember, you heard it here first.

Is this the second or thrd time this happened? If it was the Democrat offices, Rather would be warning us darkly of the bitter fruit of Bush and Cheney's "angry divisiveness."

Today was some sort of labor union organized protest day in support of Kerry. They had demonstrations and, in Florida, they even stormed into a Republican office and destroyed property while roughing up some of the volunteers. I suspect the shoot ups would have been caused by the same type of union goons who take these protests as a green light to act like juvenile delinquents.

Were you born yesterday?

It was a CAMPAIGN headquarters.

Of course it was politically motivated.

Pray for the safety of those in the Bush/Cheney campaign, including the guys at the top, of course!

Amen! There's very little true support for Kerry-Edwards, but lots of hate out there for our guys.

"Police... told the homeowner it will be investigated as a hate crime, which carries stiffer penalties." Since the perps are Democrats, a stiffer penalty will be a slap on both wrists?
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

Just finished a classic book on the rise of Fascism. What we are seeing now isn't fascism, it is communism/anarchism.

Part of me really hopes that this is just a flash in the pan, but I fear it may not be.

But they are more expensive. I was trying to go for the the most power available at minimum cost.

Sure, I understand. The problem with max power, IMHO, is that new shooters are often unable to control it for max effectiveness.

BTW, we need to talk about extended magazines for the shotgun, and maybe a SureFire flaslight forearm... :-)
