An unknown suspect fired several shots into the Bearden office of the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign Tuesday morning.
The headquarters are located at 4618 Kingston Pike, next to Noveau Classics and in the same shopping plaza as Long's Drugstore.
According to Knoxville Police Department (KPD) officers on the scene Tuesday, it is believed that the two separate shots were fired from a car sometime between 6:30 am and 7:15 am.
One shot shattered the glass in the front door and the other cracked the glass in another of the front doors.
There were no witnesses to the shooting. A customer at a nearby dry cleaning store noticed shattered glass on the sidewalk in front of the headquarters and called police.
Volunteers and staffers at the campaign office say they have no clues as to who might have committed the crime. However, they add that the shooting makes them even more enthusiastic and energized about working for their candidates.
"If I have to sleep here (at the campaign office) now, that's what I'll do," says volunteer Suzanne Dewar.
In an unexpected twist, a bank directly across the street from the headquarters was robbed just as KPD officers were busy investigating at the scene of the shooting.
For thee and me, not for their bully boys.

The problem is if there is an uprising, the MSM will cover it nonstop with the uderlying message that this is all Bush and his supporters fault.
Get one. Preferably a type formerly known as an assault weapon. But if your budget is tight, a 12 gauge pump shotgun will suffice, and be about 1/4 or less as costly.
Well, we KNOW they understand how to use shotguns.
I doubt if they know enough to hit anything though.
I guess Republicans should be prepared and keep their powder dry.
Which should also be next to his NRA member sticker. :)
And 50,999 are Freeper spys. They count any one who's ever signed up as "a member" , and that goes all the way back to when they started up the site.
Seriously, on a good night, you might find about 25 or so bitching about not getting enough of everyone elses paycheck.
I'm sorry but I haven't a clue how to post a link. If someone could tell me how to do that I would be glad to. Or you could just go to democrat underground.com and read their threads. They had a really long one aweek ot two ago about revolution.
He's safer in the union plant parking lot than he would be in some Left wing, suburb, filled with angry self proclaimed "intellectuals" in a coastal Gold Coast area. I live in one, and am keeping my powder dry.
Got that too, also a member of B.A.S.S.
I strongly suspect a very real conspiracy. When the Friends-of-Bill labelled us the VRWC, it was overtly ludicrous. However, the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy is very real. Soros is in on it among others.
They say Free Republic has a dozen or so members. LOL
FYI
Good for you. Thats got to be scary.
I hate to be an alarmist, but these Marxist pigs are at their post 60's peak for shrill, unreasonable, erratic behavior. Don't think that some of these fringe-dwellers can't become violent if their "ABB" campaign is denied them at the polls.
Think about it. Even the most inoffensive, don't-rock-the-boat President of the last century, Gerald Ford, was fired upon by wackjobs during his term. TWICE in the same month, to be exact.
Sometimes I worry for the safety of GWB in (hopefully) his next term. Pray for his safety as well as for God to give him the wisdom and strength to get the job done against adversity.
Easiest way is to right click, cut, and then past to a FR post. I asked for a link because DU is a real pain to navigate through.
Jim Rob and crew have spent a lot of time and effort to make FR a very user friendly place to be.
If they really are planing an uprising. I hope they say hi to the friendly G man who asks them some questions about a few threads on DU.
We need to be ready for just about anything. Got preps? ;)
