Top 10 Reasons to Buy Bush Country Ketchup
Founded by Patrick Spero and Christopher Cylke, two young conservatives
While dunking our freedom fries in ketchup a few months ago, we came to a sudden realization. With each drop of ketchup we ingested, bottled by a company whose single largest individual shareholder is the wife of the Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry, we were indirectly making his wallet fatter. Bush Country Ketchup was created so right-thinking Americans could once again enjoy this condiment on our burgers and fries without the guilt associated with enriching an individual whose aspirations and goals are so clearly wrong for our country. The 2004 Presidential election is a contest that will surely be critical for the future of our great nation. The past several years have presented our country with many challenges: a recession left on our doorstep by the previous administration; a horrific terrorist attack which claimed the lives of 3,000 of our fellow citizens; and a continued decay of the moral and social fabric of our society. Faced with these problems, President Bush has demonstrated leadership by taking decisive action to ensure Americas economic vitality, safety, and properly positioned moral compass.
Unfortunately, Senator Kerry believes he has better solutions to these problems: raise taxes; place our Nations security in the hands of the United Nations; and allow the agendas of liberal special interest groups to dictate our social policies. We recognize the fallacy of these proposals and believe that the choice on November 2nd is clear - elect President Bush to a second term.
Moreover, we find it particularly audacious that a candidate who has voted to cut defense and intelligence spending would now attempt to criticize the President for failing to keep us safe. And that an individual who has married into a $600 million fortune, which he did not earn a penny of, would advocate raising taxes on working families whom he has ironically had the gall to deign the rich.
We hope you enjoy our product and do your part in November to ensure that America remains Bush Country.

I bought four bottles and delighted in serving it to the two demo family members at a picnic last month. But even they admitted it was good ketchup. I think there are subtle spices in it which give it a better taste than the tomato paste and vinegar of "the other brand". However, it is pricey.
Perhaps you should read what the Heinz Company has to say about your claim. Here's an excerpt:
In light of some misleading speculation, the H. J. Heinz Company would like to make clear that neither Mrs. Teresa Heinz Kerry, Senator John Kerry nor any member of their family is involved in the management or board of the H. J. Heinz Company (NYSE:HNZ). They have no involvement in the Heinz® Ketchup business or any of the company's other brands or products.I dislike Ta-RAY-za Heinz-Kerry and her husband as much as the next person, but she does not influence the Heinz Company....
Neither Mrs. Heinz Kerry nor Senator Kerry nor any of the Heinz trusts or endowments - either individually or collectively - holds a significant percentage of shares of the H. J. Heinz Company. In 1995 the Heinz Endowments and family trusts sold a large percentage of Heinz shares in a secondary share offering to diversify their holdings. As a result, their current holdings are under 4 percent. There is no connection between any philanthropic programs of the H. J. Heinz Company and its Foundation and the Heinz family interests (including the Howard Heinz Endowment, the Vira Heinz Endowment, and the Heinz Family Philanthropies).
I agree with you 100% that sKerry lies often. But, I would point out that the quote you mentioned is NOT a quote from sKerry or his wife. Rather is is a quote directly from the Heinz Company itself. Follow the link in my comment #4.
Hopefully tomatoes.
I can't connect to your link. Can you copy and paste contents? I have read about the Heinz Company's statement elsewhere, and I understand that they are a reputable company. However, while others' maintain the company, Teresa and Kerry make $$$$$ off the Heinz fortune, and with her personality (opinionated, condescending, rude) Teresa's forces are at work one way or the other. I'd like to see her step down COMPLETELY before I purchase any Heinz products.
Here's a copy and paste of the .pdf file from the Heinz web site:
H. J. Heinz Company Confirms Its Widely Held Public Ownership And Non-Partisan Status
Pittsburgh, PA, March 22, 2004
In light of some misleading speculation, the H. J.
Heinz Company would like to make clear that neither Mrs. Teresa Heinz Kerry, Senator
John Kerry nor any member of their family is involved in the management or board of the
H. J. Heinz Company (NYSE:HNZ). They have no involvement in the Heinz® Ketchup
business or any of the company's other brands or products.
The H. J. Heinz Company, in accordance with its corporate governance policies, is a non-partisan
organization.
Neither Mrs. Heinz Kerry nor Senator Kerry nor any of the Heinz trusts or endowments -
either individually or collectively - holds a significant percentage of shares of the H. J.
Heinz Company. In 1995 the Heinz Endowments and family trusts sold a large
percentage of Heinz shares in a secondary share offering to diversify their holdings. As a
result, their current holdings are under 4 percent.
There is no connection between any philanthropic programs of the H. J. Heinz Company
and its Foundation and the Heinz family interests (including the Howard Heinz
Endowment, the Vira Heinz Endowment, and the Heinz Family Philanthropies).
Currently, 60% of the sales of the H. J. Heinz Company are outside the United States and
to accommodate those customers by providing facilities closer to those markets, the
company maintains a number of overseas facilities that provide products for consumers in
those markets. This allows Heinz to pack the freshest ingredients, tailor its recipes to
local tastes and deliver the final products in a timely and efficient manner. In the United
States, Heinz makes its flagship ketchup in factories in Fremont, Ohio; Muscatine, Iowa;
and Stockton, California.
NOTES TO EDITORS:
- H. J. Heinz Company was founded in 1869 by Henry John Heinz, a native
of the Pittsburgh area. For 135 years, the Heinz Company has stood for
pure foods and great taste. It remains headquartered in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. Today, its Chairman, President and CEO is William R.
Johnson.
- The last Heinz family member to be involved in management with the
company was H. J. "Jack" Heinz II, who served as the company's
chairman until his death in 1987. Since that time, no family member has
been employed by the company and none has served on its board of
directors.
- The late Senator H. John Heinz III (Pennsylvania - Republican) did work
briefly in the 1960s in the company's marketing department before
embarking upon his career in politics. He was tragically killed in a
helicopter accident in 1991.
Thanks for the information. I must admit, yesterday I stopped at the deli to pick up gravy for meatloaf I was cookin, and lo and behold, Heinz gravy was on the shelf, and it is my favorite. Well, I purchased it. It was as good as I remembered. My point really is that I am very uncomfortable with contributing funds to organizations that go against the grain of human living. For instance, Tereza is pro-abortion, and I would hate to know that my money could trickle down to some pro-abortion group. But after learning more about the Heinz company (thanks to you), I may take Heinz products off my "Refuse to Spend My Money On" list which includes NYTimes, CD's from radical left-wing musicians, Vanity Fair. As for Heinz ketchup, I think I'll stick with W Ketchup (just for the name!!)
You're welcome. I sorta feel sorry for the Heinz Company. I'm sure many people are boycotting their products without knowing the whole story.
