John O'Neill Says Kerry Lied about Wartime Experience in Debate
Scott Thomas Radion Program, WYLL Chicago

Today on WYLL (1160 AM) in Chicago, John O'Neill was being interviewed with LT. COL Patterson by Scott Thomas. He brought up that during the debate Kerry said "I understand what the president is talking about, because I know what it means to lose people in combat. And the question, is it worth the cost, reminds me of my own thinking when I came back from fighting in that war."
O'Neil noted that John Kerry did not have this experience.

O'Neil noted that John Kerry did not have this experience, he did not lose subordinates and I believe O'Neil said there were no deaths during Kerry's three months. This should be easily verifiable from the unit history.

Kerry told so many lies in that debate another one is simply incidental.

Maybe he was talking about that Viet Cong teenager. After all, they were fighting for the same side after he came back.

Yes I caught it when he said it. The main point is that Kerry is a despicable liar who has no respect for soldiers then or now. It's pretty despicable to say you personally lost men in combat when you didn't. Even Kerry's statements taht he defended this country are offensive becaue 1) he got out of combat asap on a technicality and 2) He spentfar more time undermining the country's defense.
kerry is a horrible candidate and I blame the fecklessness of republicans for not calling him out on it. So what Bush wasn't in combat? He should have had the cajones to say wait a minute, what men did YOU lose? You have to call these people out on their lies.
It used to be that lying about your military service meant something.

I read somewhere that Kerry had a friend who was killed in Vietnam, but it was not where he (Kerry) was in Vietnam.

Lets make a list of all the Kerry Lies
Loss while in Combat
I have never, ever called Bush A Liar
I was at Treblinka Square (it was Lubyanka and was he there)
No Iraq was not a mistake if I am elected President (Iraq is a mistake earlier)
Soldiers families ordering body armour off the internet (old lie)
Wasted 200 billion in Iraq (the cost right now stands at only 120)
I have a plan for Iraq on my website (all of his plan points are Bush's plan)
I favor unilateral talks with N. Korea(yet international for Iraq only?)
Yet let N. Korea expand nuclear program (Clinton did this)
De Gaulle did not need to see proof took word alone (Not true story as stated)
Nuclear Proliferation is dangerous US policy (Pointed out US proliferation????)

His remark doesn't specifically refer to casualties amongst those with whom he served during his mini-tour of duty. He no doubt wanted to create that impression, but if pressed he'll cite vets in general & feign indignation when called on it.
Not worth pursuing in my estimation.

I did some sniffing around a few months ago and there was only one US casualty in CD11/13 during Kerry's time there. It was during Kerry's training period in Cam Ranh Bay with CD14. As pointed out in an earlier thread one of the Chinese mercenaries died on one of their missions, but he was on land and Kerry would not have know him.
He lost no subordinates. In fact as best I can tell only one guy (Steve Gardner) was wounded while serving with Kerry and he was the gunner on the 44 boat that dislikes Kerry.

I am absolutely no fan of John Kerry's, but before we go off half cockywampus here, I did read somewhere that one of his best friends either in prep school or college, or both was killed in Vietnam, before or just after he went over.
Do not think the friend was anywhere near Kerry, and read this a long time back, so someone check out the details and post it here.
We do not want to be guilty of what "they" do.

well he actually lost someone when he fell overboard but then he didn't lose him when he pulled him back in the boat...well now wait a minute here - according to Kerry's own webpage (http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/releases/pr_2004_0117d.html) Rassmann was riding on the boat behind Kerry's when he fell overboard, so technically by Kerry's own account he actually didn't even lose Rassmann, at least he didn't by this version, but on the other hand, if you believe what he's said on other occasions, he did lose Rassmann, but only because a mine went off under his boat, but then on some tellings, Rassmann fell off when he accelerated too suddenly, but then again.....

John Kerry lost Audie Murphy, Ted Baxter and Yves St. Laurent in battle, on the killing fields of Vietnam.
He also lost his hairdresser in the killing fields of Nantucket while windsurfing, so he knows what it's like to lose men in the field.

I acknowledge your caution, but I am not sure that one would use the phrase "lose somebody in combat" if referring to a more distant loss. I can imagine someone saying "I lost someone in that war", "I lost a close friend in Viet Nam", etc. Maybe its my military background, but 'losing somebody in combat' is an up close and personal, possesive phraseology.

That is correct. Don Droz died after Kerry abandoned his unit and went home.
