The SPCA deals strictly with animals. That is what they are funded for. They can't give the funds for other uses. They are doing exactly what they should...and many volunteers are also involved. I say God Bless them for their efforts.

100% agree. I didn't hear folks complaining when volunteers spent weeks rescuing lost pets during the massve floods in the early 90s- here in the United States. Many owners were reunited with their pets thanks to those who were willing to spend time and money to save them.

There are so many non-rofit organizations to help the victims of the hurricanes, as well as the United States and the UN (ultimately, the US again). Yet one Humane Society spends money (donated money, mind you) to rescue pets who may find new homes here in the states, and people cry foul?

Give me a break.
