You can take notes, you can not bring notes in to the debate.

Who does the cleaning-up? Probably their own staff, or else a minimum-wage janitor who tosses it straight to the trash can without a second thought.

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate....

Wonder what part of that John Kerry did not understand????

You could take notes during the debate that is what the paper and pen is for. You COULD NOT bring anything with you. To lie and cheat is typical democrat party.

Notes are okay, if they were made during the debate. Both candidates made them, using (in theory) the pens and paper supplied by the moderator. The question is whether Kerry brought in notes in advance, since neither one was supposed to bring in any "material object."

"We have MORE important matters to focus our energies on"

I agree. I looked at the video. Looks like a watch to me. The Drudge fuss will backfire on him. Makes the pajama people look like poor sports. Although I enjoy being the poor sport as much as the next guy, there's better things to throw a tantrum about. I'm going to save my tantrums for something better.

if he would be that dumb to bring the questions to the podium,

Why not? the entire media is behind him doing anything to get him elected. They used forged documents, so what's hiding the fact (and probably aiding Kerry in) that he cheated? I'm sure Kerry felt (and still feels) he has nothing to lose. The only people who will draw notice to it are the 'bloggers' and Kerry and the left will just laugh and say we are conspiracy kooks and can't stand the fact that our guy did so poorly in the debate.

This from Powerline:

Cheat sheet

INDC posts the visual evidence that John Kerry violated the Memorandum of Understanding that set forth the rules governing Thursday's debate. It looks like Kerry brought in note cards, which he removed from his suit jacket, in violation of the rules. While the Bush campaign probably would be ill-advised to complain about this, bringing in such cards constitutes a material violation of the rules. One of President Bush's problems was that he was short on material and tended to repeat himself. Bush could have used a "cheat sheet" and there is reason to believe that Kerry did.

If Kerry wins we get to explain why it's not OK to cheat on tests even if the president does it. I know I cheated a time or two in junior high, but if I knew that the President was a cheat, I'd probably never had stopped. Or if I got caught, my retort was so what the President cheats. I just don't want to go there.

First we need to prove he did cheat. From any of the videos I have seen on the Internet, it is not clear at all.

GW and his camp will come out way worse if it concludes Kerry didn't cheat at all and yet the GOP was looking for reasons for why GW lost (because that is how it will be spun).

Because if GW did great at the debate, no one would have cared if Kerry brought some info card - The story will be spun that the GOP is looking for reasons GW did so poorly and they will say suggesting Kerry cheated (if it turns out he didn't) is the proof the GW did lose the debate.

The RNC doesn't have to pick it up, just the bloggers and talk radio.

BTW, it really doesn't matter what it was. The point is he violated the rules he agreed to.

sorry, wrong answer. The candidates provided their materials ahead of time to be placed on the podium so exactly this kind of question would not arise. Kerry violated the rules and the video proves it. Besides, spouting propaganda from Michael Moore is not answering questions and deserved the response from Bush that Kerry received.

Have you watched the video? Bush didn't pull anything from his pocket. Kerry did. They were allowed a piece of blank paper and a writing utensil placed by a third party on the podium. Bush jotted down his own notes on that piece of paper. That is not against the rules.

"I'm sure someone will have a VERY high-res copy somewhere and solve this."

Yeah...FOX News...they were the designated camera feed operators for the debate.

I guess they are poring over high res pic as we speak.

I guess J F'n K will say " Oh yes...I had a signed 180 form ready......and I was going to use this opportunity to come clean on my Vientam record....but Bush was mean to me..../sarcasm

Fox and Friends reads Drudge and Newsmax all the time. Don't be surprised if they pick this up tomorrow.
