Something else to consider that just dawned on me. DUH..Thursday night, as the debate was going on, the dust up in Samarra was just beginning and I am sure that was on his mind and he was impatient with having to be where he was, out of touch.
Yes. I'm guessing that during a time of war and natural disasters, President Bush's mind wasn't only on the debate.
This is yet ANOTHER reason why I think it was all a plan to nuke Kerry at a later date, rather than on the first debate.
I mean, do you remember the first Bush/Gore debate? I don't, and I watched it with all the anticipation that I did last week's.
Let's hope Bush is not directing the actions on the battlefield (he's not). The last president to do that was LBJ in Vietnam, with disastrous consequences.
I thought of that, too.
The Samarra attack, in which a hundred or so were killed, wasn't even reported the next day.
On any other day, this would have brought out the liberals and the Communists in high pitched thrashing.
By focusing on the intricacies of the debate, the military got a pass (for once) from the media because they were too busy slicing W.
It certainly changed the dynamics of the war in the region right now, but nobody even noticed.
