PRESTIGE!!!!The 5 members of the UNSC are all nukepowers & it was part of the logic for India's 98 tests(the major reasons being China & Pakiland).The Brazilians think that nukes would stress their status as South America's super power & hence we see them trying to build N-subs & buying a carrier from France & tying up with other similar honchos like India & South Africa.
I think too much is made about nukes. The fact is that this technology is going to be in widespread use and its impossible to control it.
And Why U.S. needs Nukes ??????
