Hey Bob,
I'll keep the Forum in mind : D
But I have to ask....why the big Forum vs. blogger differential. I mean if I may be so bold as to ask. I'm sure it's probably because the blogger thing has a negative connotation of naval-gazing e-journaling narcisissm, but really "Bloggers"...and that is the term being used in the press...are the ones being credited with bringing the mighty Dan down. And the Admiral considered me as having some sort of real "clout" as a blogger. So I certainly don't want to go against the grain. The Forum it is. Julius Caesar and all that. Friends Romans, countrmen..But to quote the Bard "A rose by any other name is still as sweet," if'n ya catch my drift. : D Thanks for keeping this newbie on track, Bob!! Don't wanna be a persona non grata from day one - ha!

Why don't you send an email to the site owner and ask them instead of asking out here?

Signing up and causing trouble is not a good way to start if you really are sincere about posting here.

Personally, I think you're a troll.

why don't you prove me otherwise?

An internet forum, such as FreeRepublic, is based on its members posting news articles (or excerpts) from other sources and allowing comments to be made by other members of the forum. Self-written articles are termed vanity posts and are generally kept to a minimum, at least as much as possible. FreeRepublic was founded as an open (but moderated) forum in the late 1990's. AFAIK, FR predates blogs by several years.

On the other hand, a web log (or blog), is an individual's site where he or she creates the content and allows others to comment on it.

In my narrow little racist, redneck, gun-toting mind (not really, but you SAID you were trusting what the press said about us) I think of bloggers as 15 year old kids trying to make themselves seem far more important than they are.

Free Republic is an online forum. You've read everything on the front page right?

Please ignore the rudeness of some people here. You don't have to prove anything to anyone.

I don't think a true Red-Blooded American would insult a lady trying to introduce herself. And there are always those who take the anonymity of being an Unknown Freeper for a license to be boorish.

Most of us can remember how hesitant we were when we first signed up and it seemed like everyone knew each other.

Your participation in our forum discussions will show your mettle and like most Freepers, I personally am looking forward to your interview with Admiral Hoffman and proud that it will be introduced to the world on Free Republic.
