FORT HUACHUCA - Spc. Robert Unruh, who was killed in Iraq this week, will be interred at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday, his family announced Friday.
Unruh will be the first soldier killed in action to be interred at the cemetery, which was established in 2001 on approximately 145 acres of land transferred from Fort Huachuca.
Unruh, 25, died Sept. 25 in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, when enemy forces using small arms fire attacked his unit. He was assigned to the 44th Engineer Battalion, Camp Howze, Korea. The incident is under investigation.
I, and my family, honor his sacrifice. May he rest in peace.

This guy is a HERO, thank God for our troops.
GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR TROOPS AND OUR FRIENDS AT THEIR SIDE
Well done to Spc. Unruh.
And here is a chance to remember another soldier from Fort Huachuca
who paid the price in Iraq late last year:

Sleep well, dear patriot.

Wonder if we'd be welcome at the funeral.
If I thought we were, I'd be there.
Rest in peace soldier.
That really brings it home. God rest his soul. My cousin left for Iraq today. I'll be praying for him and all the other troops.

1. To fallen soldiers let us sing,
where no rockets fly nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
to the mansions of the Lord
2. No more bleeding no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
just divine embrace, eternal light
in the mansions of the Lord
3. Where no mothers cry and no children weep
We will stand and guard while the angels sleep
All through the ages safely keep
the mansions of the Lord
Thank God for this hero and his loved ones!
Thank you, Spc. Unruh, for being there for all of us.
Thank you to the Unruh family for your sacrifice--a fine son who fought the good fight for all of us.
It sure brings it home. God bless America.
I just wrote the person who owned this site and thanked him for allowing friends and family members to express themselves about this fallen hero. Thanks for the link.
